Drake Apologizes For Snubbing Phonte

A few months back, Phonte of Little Brother vented about  not getting a Drake verse. In an interview with The Village Voice, Drake explains the delay and apologizes to Phonte for giving him the cold shoulder.

You’ve talked a lot about your admiration for Phonte. How come another collaboration with him still hasn’t happened?
With me and Tay, I kinda dropped the ball on a feature he needed me to do, just being 100% honest. I really wanted to do a record with him, and we actually did do a record for my album, and then something happened with the producer and the beat, and it started getting funny so I had to scrap the record. And then he was like, “Well, can you do this feature for me,” and at the time I was trying to find my sound and trying to figure out what this album was going to be about, and I kind of let it slip through the cracks. That was my fault, and I do apologize to Phonte for that. But I still want to make it happen; I talked to 9th Wonder about trying to make it happen, we’ll get it eventually. He knows he’s one of the biggest influences on my career.

Marco – HotBox

Marco’s single “HotBox” (premiered on gogoradio.com) has actually gotten some excellent feedback thus far and I am sure -if you enjoy R&B- you will enjoy this as well. This is actually his second single off his upcoming mixtape titled “Karma” (to be released on a later date).

Dirty G’s View, @Wale Vs @Noz and why we need to Support not Hinder artist from being Great.

A certain Local writer from DC has some hate for a certain DC Rapper. I (Dirty G) over here at jukeboxdc.com dont usually take sides but you read and Decide Hate or not. I usually dont care what people in way like this but once you hit a certain level as a Writer you should not be bias against rappers you should be fair and balanced and to me doesn’t seem like someone got that memo.
and His rebuttal
Link after the numbers came out.
I have lived in DC for a few years now and I have noticed a few things here there is a “Crab’s in the bucket” type mentality in this town and it needs to stop. I myself am not a 100% wale supporter but the man is trying and we should respect that not tear it down.
