Pharrell Williams Named Creative Director Of Karmaloop TV

Rapper/producer/entrepreneur Pharrell Williams has been tapped as creative director of Karmaloop TV, a network set to launch later this year that looks to target the tech- and trend-savvy 18-34 demographic.

“Pharrell is, without a doubt, one of the most influential cultural creatives and business minds in America today,” Karmaloop CEO Greg Selkoe said. “We’re delighted and honored that he has joined our effort to create a multi-platform brand that will once again excite cutting-edge youth culture about TV, just as MTV did in the 1980s.” The Grammy-winning Williams will take an equity stake in the venture.

Free Joins WPGC 95.5 In DC Alongside Big Tigger

I couldn’t find another picture, I swear. From AllHipHop:
Former BET host Free has landed a gig co-hosting Big Tigger’s Washington D.C. based morning radio show, The Big Tigger Morning Show, which airs on WPGC 95.5.
The show, which has been re-christened “The Big Tigger Morning Show with Free,” airs every morning from 6-10AM and can be heard in Washington D.C., Baltimore, Delaware and parts of Virginia.
Free, the former host of BET’s popular countdown show 106 & Park, is excited about returning to broadcasting full time.
She left the spotlight in 2005 to to focus on her family and to launch her non-profit organization, the Free4Life Foundation.
“I’m so thankful to both PGC and Tigger for giving me this opportunity to do what I care about most – connecting with people on a daily basis,” Free told AllHipHop.com in a statement today (May 9th). “I love doing radio and have always been intrigued by D.C.’s history and culture, so it’s a match made in heaven.”
In addition to co-hosting duties each weekday with Big Tigger, Free will rundown the “Free’s World Entertainment Report” recap during Big Tigger’s internationally syndicated weekend program “Live in the Den with Big Tigger.”

Jim Jones – Believe In Magic

Produced by Girl Talk.
The latest episode of the Pitchfork.tv series “Selector” is pretty special. In a deviated from the usual “Selector” formula (in which rappers choose from two beats produced by indie artists for a freestyle backing track), we brought Dipset MC Jim Jones and mashup maestro Girl Talk together in Jones’ Nomad District studio. Together, they created a new track: “Believe in Magic”, produced by Girl Talk using a sample of 1970s soul group Honey Cone’s “Want Ads” and freestyled by Jones. Jones liked the results much that he brought in R&B crooner Lloyd to contribute a hook and plans to release it as a single in the near future. – Pitchfork

Still not over that other shit. Some of you gossip/whatever you wanna call it sites are all the way screwed up. Hot news is hot news, I do understand this (we post gossip when it pertains to Hip-Hop), but……naw, damn that. I hope y’all got a big check for that integrity sale.
