Justin Timberlake Creates Limited Edition Air Jordans (PICS)

Justin Timberlake has gone and made some special edition kicks in lieu of his megatour with JAY Z, Legends Of The Summer. No clue on when they will be released, but feel free to keep checking back for any additional news on the kicks. I’m wondering how Kanye West feels about this (assuming that he didn’t have anything to do with it).

Check out the many pics above.

Theophilus London Collaborates With Spongebob Squarepants

From Hypebeast:

A cozy Southampton estate saw a takeover from down under as Theophilus London’s LVRS brand unveiled a new collaboration with Spongebob SquarePants. The unlikely venture comes out of London’s love for the childhood icon, combined with a deep-seated passion for design. The summertime affair was fitting to its locale, as lush greenery, young creatives, and an ostensibly endless supply of spiked snow cones played the backdrop for LVRS’ new range of apparel. With notables such as Jasmine Solano and Ali Shaheed (of A Tribe Called Quest) behind the turntables and a special performance by London himself, the event was packed with enough good vibes for everyone to enjoy. Here Hypebeast sat down with the artist to speak about his brand, how the collaboration came about, and the transition from Brooklyn to the Hamptons — returning with the above video.

@Wretch32 Talks Fashion At DKNY Artworks Launch Party

Wretch 32 has been sharing his fashion tips, and disasters, at the DKNY Artworks launch party.

Sharing his advice on how to look good, the rapper told us: “Go with how you feel on the day. Today, I’m on a laid back tip, it’s a Wednesday as well man. I can’t get too entusiastic about a Wednesday.”

Wretch also revealed there has been a few fashion disasters when he was a kid, saying: “I was a page boy at my uncle’s wedding. They were like peddle pushers with long socks. I was being laughed at. Back then I thought it was a disaster.” – ITN Productions

Dolce & Gabbana Sentenced To A Year & 8 Months In Prison For Tax Evasion

6a00d83451c83e69e20177449187fd970d-800wi

From Forbes:

The Italian fashion duo have been found guilty of tax evasion by Judge Antonella Brambilla and sentenced to one year and eight months in prison. Neither Dolce nor Gabbana appeared at the sentencing in Milan and have continued to deny the charges.

The sentencing follows a lengthy and public inquiry into the pair’s financial affairs by Italian tax authorities. The official investigation began in 2007 and focused on the years 2004-2006. It was in 2004 that Dolce & Gabbana sold their business to a Luxembourg-based holding company, Gado Srl. The holding company was under the control of the two, who reportedly undervalued the company at sale in order to avoid paying Italian taxes on the transaction. They have been accused of attempting to skirt tax on nearly 1 billion euros of royalties ($1.3 billion U.S.).

The pair’s luxury brand has made a billionaire out of Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce, found on the Forbes billionaires list tied at #11 Italy, and #736 overall.

With wealth has come increased scrutiny. The pair has spent a number of years battling the charges, which initially appeared to be resolved in their favor. That decision was overturned by Italy’s Supreme Court and the case went back to trial. In April 2013, a Milan tax court ruled in favor of Italy’s tax authority, Agenzia delle Entrate, and fined the pair 343.3 million euros ($439.70 million U.S.) as restitution. In addition to the fines, the two were charged in criminally on charges related to the same business and faced up to five years in prison; the actual sentence which was handed down is considerably shorter.

Nigo Speaks On Leaving A Bathing Ape

nigo-on-leaving-a-bathing-ape-the-future-01-630x419

Women’s Wear Daily got a pretty dope interview with A Bathing Ape creator Nigo, you spoke on his decision to leave what was essentially his baby for newer projects and pastures:

WWD: Why did you choose to leave A Bathing Ape, the very brand you started? When did you make the decision?
Nigo: It was about six months ago that I started to think about what I wanted to do next. I guess it’s just me being selfish. It has been 20 years since I founded the brand, and in another 20 years from now I will be 60. I started fumbling around for some new possibilities. What I really want to make clear is that I didn’t fall out with [I.T chief executive officer] Sham Kar Wai. Sham and I get on as more than business associates and we came to a mutual decision. It was simply that I came to the realization that Bape was no longer just my creation and I didn’t renew the contract that I signed two years ago when I sold the company.

WWD: Since I.T bought the company, the brand has changed significantly. I.T has launched a diffusion line called Aape by A Bathing Ape and there are many more products with prominent logos. Isn’t that a departure for the brand?
Nigo: I think it is pretty obvious that from the perspective of I.T, they weren’t just buying a brand, they were looking to turn a profit. But I am very grateful to them, not only for buying the company, but for listening to my input. Two years ago when I sold it, times were really tough. We were really feeling the effects of the Lehman Bros. collapse and the banks just weren’t lending. The decision to sell was to protect us, our employees and even the banks. It was the best decision for us all to make it out alive. Actually, we were having talks with a number of people at the time, not just I.T, but those all faltered leaving I.T as the only buyer. Thanks to I.T, it was like I had stepped on a land mine but, thankfully, it hadn’t gone off. After the sale, I learnt a lot from I.T, especially about how to keep costs down, which looking back on my time as manager, was the thing I needed to reevaluate the most.

WWD: Do you think that without you Bape is going to change even more significantly from now on?
Nigo: There is a hangover caused by my own time managing Bape. That without me the brand wouldn’t exist is something the people who follow in my footsteps will have to overcome. But I think that I.T is confident that it is going to continue to sell without me. Especially in Asia, Bape is Bape. There are people who are fanatical about the logo alone. Maybe it will have an effect in places in the West like New York where I have an identity as Nigo. As for Japan, I wonder? I have a feeling they will just have to push on. If something goes wrong, maybe they will call me back!
