With the help of sponsor (I guess) HTC, Pharrell recently threw a shindig to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of his Billionaire Boys Club brand Manhattan’s Tribeca Canvas. Major names were in attendance, the top of which including Jay-Z & Beyonce, Q-Tip and Busta Rhymes, as well as fellow urban fashion giants like Kaws (who just shut down Original Fake) and Nigo (who just stepped down from his post at A Bathing Ape). SPOTLIGHT: Lil Wayne’s SUPRA Spectre Chimera
Back in December, Lil Wayne teamed with Stevie Williams for the collaboration shoe titled the S1W Supra. The shoe represents the friendship between Lil Wayne and Stevie, but also a mixture of skateboarding and Hip-Hop. The first model to be released from the upcoming lifestyle assortment will be the revolutionary new high top Chimera. The Chimera is available now, in three colorways for the Summer.
The first colorway has Black Satin TUF and black block-stitch TUF upper with black and grey-speckled neoprene TUF clamshell, black diamond mesh tongue, black rope laces, padded black and red mesh lining, black SUPRAFOAM midsole with grey speckle, and a black outsole with red traction.
The second colorway has White tumbled leather and black mesh upper with white leather clamshell, black mesh and white leather tongue, black/red rope laces, padded black and red mesh lining, red SUPRAFOAM midsole, and white outsole with black traction.
The third and final colorway has a grey tumbled full-grain leather and textured charcoal suede upper with grey leather clamshell, black mesh, turquoise accents, black diamond-mesh tongue, black/pink rope laces, padded black and pink mesh lining, pink SUPRAFOAM midsole with turquoise speckle, and grey outsole with turquoise traction.
I received the White/Red colorway from Supra two weeks ago, which I love; for starters, they’re extremely comfortable. These sneakers are so different then the S1W’s; I feel those sneakers were more of a casual sneaker and these are more of a skater shoe.
When Lil Wayne signed the deal with Supra, he wanted to make a sneaker for the die hard skaters and the people who are non skaters. I believe he succeeded in doing that.

R.I.P. Original Fake
I was way too broke to own any of this (although I did buy and drink from that special edition Hennessy bottle), but streetwear fashion/art heads are definitely saddened….from HighSnobiety:
After first announcing the closure of OriginalFake, the brand by Brooklyn artist Kaws and Japanese toy maker Medicom Toy, in January, the day has finally come. On May 31, 2013, OriginalFake officially closed its doors. The brand and the Tokyo store have both closed. After serving fans for 7 years with premium streetwear and toys, the partnership has come to an end. Kaws and Medicom Toy will continue to produce toys though and we will of course keep you posted about that.
PREVIEW: Nike Air Foamposite One “Weatherman”
Using the weather map concept that we first saw on the KD IV, these Foams feature a white and bright blue upper with pixelated map graphics and contour lines throughout. Black works the eyestay, inner lining and pull-tabs, while volt helps on the forefoot Swoosh border, tongue trim and ‘1CENT’ logos. “Weatherman” Foamposite One will be released on Saturday, August 31 for $235. Shyne Launches Clothing Line
Shyne is trying to keep his name in North America, somehow. Isn’t much of a point in showing off that nice bag in the States when you can only do it from YouTube. From HipHopDX:
Shyne is getting into the fashion game. He’s launching the Gangland clothing line, a partnership with U.A.O.P Ruprai, an emerging clothing designer who has also created custom pieces for Grammy Award-winning musician Pharrell Williams.
“The Gangland brand is something we want to build, from music to clothing,” Shyne says in a press release. “I’m from Brooklyn, and the streets have influenced a lot of trends in the fashion industry, and I want to mix street wear with high fashion.”
The Gangland clothing line features sweaters, shirts, hats and accessories and is available in select boutiques, and online at Shyne’s website. The clothing line has the same name as Shyne’s recent mixtape, a project that features Pusha T and World Kin Folk. It also has production by RZA, Young Lord, Odds and Ends, Omega, David DA Beats, Danja, Pheonix, Hebrew Hustle, The Olympicks, Kojak, J Kits, Arthur McArthur and Rich Skills.
