DJ Tech Trackz Electrocuted, Hit By Train After Trying To Retrieve iPhone
According to NyDailyNews:
A Bronx deejay who busted out beats under the name “Tech Trackz” died on a stretch of city subway tracks Saturday morning as he tried to retrieve an iPhone he had dropped, officials said.
Police sources said Francisco Diego Jr., 22, was shocked and then hit by a No. 2 train at the Wakefield-241st St. station — the last stop on the line — just after 1 a.m.
Sources said Diego told a token booth clerk he had dropped his smart phone on the tracks. After the train entered the station he managed to get between two train cars and jumped onto the tracks. He was electrocuted when he touched the third rail, sources said.
Paramedics rushed the tragically injured Diego to Jacobi Medical Center, but he could not be saved.
The always-smiling spin master had just worked a Memorial Day bash at Maximo’s Place, a Bronx nightclub where he often hosted dance parties, according to his Facebook page.
NFL Defensive End Deacon Jones Dies At 74
Deacon Jones, a prototype of the pass-rushing defensive end who became a master of the sack and one of the N.F.L.’s greatest defensive players with the Los Angeles Rams’ line known as the Fearsome Foursome, died on Monday in Anaheim Hills, Calif. He was 74.
His death was announced by the Washington Redskins through their general manager, Bruce Allen, whose father, George Allen, coached Jones with the Rams and Washington Redskins.
He had been treated for lung cancer and heart problems, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported in September 2009. Jones told the newspaper then that he had undergone lung surgery and had a pacemaker installed the previous May.

Miguel’s Leg Drop Victim Might Actually Have Suffered Brain Damage
It just keeps getting worse. From TMZ:
The girl who took Miguel’s leg drop to the head at the Billboard Music Awards last month suffered serious trauma — symptoms consistent with brain damage, the victim’s lawyer tells TMZ.
As you’ll recall … Miguel took a flying, theatrical leap across the stage and landed with thunderous force on Khyati Shah’s head.
Vip Bhola, Shah’s lawyer, says, “Some of the difficulties she’s experiencing are cognitive in nature and lead to suspicion of a neurological head injury.”
Bhola says BMA responded to the accident with a pathetic gesture — an ice pack designed to soothe a bruised elbow. The attorney insists his client should have been rushed to the hospital.
Bhola tells us his client is waiting for test results from a neurologist. When the results are in — sometime next week — Khyati will decide if a lawsuit is in the cards.
Jermaine Dupri Responds To News That He May Lose So So Def Over Debt
Looks like Jermaine Dupri has recently caught on to his own news about him potentially losing his own brand to his current debt collector Suntrust over nearly $2 million. Apparently angry, he takes to Global 14 to vent his response:

There was some backlash about the performance outfits for the Chime concert. Since a woman’s body has been deeply connected to sin, it’s easy to forget all the power and beauty her body and sexuality possesses. Yes, with this power comes great responsibility, but how was Beyonce’s tasteful outfit irresponsible? Here is the problem I see, a woman’s body is too much power for one woman to have, even Beyonce. Although we see corporations exploit this power through women and girls, with far less clothing on than Beyonce, to sell their products, do we protest? But hey, a woman has to be in check, right? Know her position since we’ve all been taught that a powerful woman is dangerous and that a powerful man makes the world go round. Here’s the deal… soon the reign of shame on a woman’s body and her control of it will end. She will be autonomous. For she can’t truly be free without it. And oh boy…what a different world this place will be…when she is free.

Tiara Thomas Signs With Division 1/Interscope

Things aren’t bad at all in Tiara Thomas’ camp by any means. The singer/songwriter has inked a deal with the Interscope Records family, joining Rico Love’s Division1.
The 23-year-old Indianapolis native is the mighty pen behind Wale’s hit single “Bad,” a song she co-wrote and co-produced before linking with the record’s lyricist.
According to Biz Journals, Thomas is the first signee to Love’s startup. This comes as a surprise to fans who believed she’d stay linked up to MMG’s “Gifted” MC. However, her new home welcomes her with open arms.
“Tiara is a gifted and versatile artist,” commented John Janick, President of Interscope Geffen A&M. “We’re excited to work with Rico and Divison1 to develop and expose her extraordinary talent.”

Weiland has now filed a countersuit, accusing the 3 other members of secretly plotting his ouster. Weiland says it’s particularly galling, rhetorically asking, “How do you expel a man from the band that he started, named, sang lead on every song, wrote the lyrics, and was the face of for twenty years?”
Weiland now wants to thwart the efforts of the remaining members to grab the STP name, asking that a judge formally dissolve the band partnership.
Weiland also wants a minimum of $7 mil in damages.

Stone Temple Pilots claims Scott Weiland screwed the band out of millions of dollars and now it’s looking forward to a very important date — in court.
The band claims Weiland sabotaged it’s 20th anniversary tour by being chronically late for performances and missing promotional gigs. The band also claims in the lawsuit Weiland had a plan to seize all the glory, to the point he wouldn’t even communicate with band members. They say Weiland’s plan was simple — “hijack” the tour.
The band had actually fired Weiland in February and hired the lead singer of Linkin Park to replace him, but they claim Weiland got vindictive and tried to interfere with the release of its new single.
Stone Temple Pilots is asking for unspecified damages.

Tyler, the Creator says Keyshawn Johnson is DEAD WRONG — claiming HE was driving Justin Bieber’s Ferrari during the infamous chase through Calabasas.
Tyler’s message was clearly intended for Johnson — who told TMZ he personally witnessed Justin in the driver’s seat after the car dangerously sped through their gated community. We’re told at least 3 other people also saw Justin behind the wheel.
Either way, the residents of Justin’s neighborhood are PISSED — and are threatening to withhold their HOA dues until the community takes action against Bieber.

A new documentary claims that O.J. Simpson’s ex-wife Nicole Brown was the victim of a known serial killer and not her famous football star ex-husband.
Glen Rogers, who was convicted of killing two women in 1995, is on death row in Florida. He reportedly confessed to the brutal stabbings of Nicole and her friends Ron Goldman.
However, Fred Goldman, Ron’s father, isn’t buying then new ‘confession.’ He remains adamant that OJ Simpson killed his son.
The new theory, floated by filmmakers for Investigation Discovery, marks only the second time an alternate suspect has been suggested in the 1994 murder.
The nine-month trial of millionaire OJ Simpson, defended by some of the top attorneys in the nation, remains the most explosive court case in modern American history.

According to documents filed in May by Uncle Sam, Kelis did not pay federal income taxes 9 years ago … to the tune of $134,931.59.
As TMZ first reported, the singer also skipped out on her NY state taxes in 2004 and 2010 … as well as 2 years of CA state and federal taxes — add on the new lien, and her total debt comes to $741,027.59.
In related news — Kelis recently sold a condo in NYC for about $2.2 million … so she might have the scratch to settle up with the taxman.
‘Storm Chasers’ Stars Killed While Chasing Oklahoma Tornado
If you’re a fan of Storm Chasers like I was, then you’ll be saddened (but not really shocked) to hear this. Our condolences goes to Young, Samaras and his son’s surviving family and friends. From ABC News Denver:
Colorado storm chaser Tim Samaras, his son Paul Samaras, and longtime chase partner Carl Young were killed in the EF-3 tornado that tore through El Reno, Oklahoma Friday.
Tim and Paul were both born and raised in Lakewood, Colorado but most recently were living in Bennett.
Tim Samaras was considered a leader in storm chasing expertise and worked with 7NEWS, National Geographic, the Discovery Channel, Boeing, and the federal government.
A family member posted this statement on Tim Samaras’ Facebook page at 5:30 a.m. Sunday morning:
“I’m Jim Samaras – Tim Samaras’s brother. Thank you to everyone for the condolences. It truly is sad that we lost my great brother Tim and his great son, Paul. Our hearts also go out to the Carl Young family as well as they are feeling the same feelings we are today. They all unfortunately passed away but doing what they LOVED. Chasing Tornado’s. I look at it that he is in the ‘big tornado in the sky…’ We (the family) will keep folks aware of what the funeral estrangements are, but please in the meantime keep Tim and Paul in your thoughts and prayers.”
Tim Samaras was 55 and his son Paul was 24. Carl Young was 45. “Carl and Tim were the best of friends,” and chased many times, Jim said. Carl Young’s father Bob Young told CNN his son always wanted to be a meteorologist.
Tim founded TWISTEX (Tactical Weather Instrumented Sampling in Tornadoes EXperiment) to pursue tornadoes and advance the research and warning available to the public.
“Tim Samaras has led, designed, and fielded complex instrumentation research efforts over the past 30 years,” the TWISTEX website says.
Bruno Mars Mother Dies Unexpectedly At 55
Our condolences to Bruno Mars and his family….there were recent reports that she had experienced a heart attack as well. From TMZ:
Bernadette Hernandez — mother of Bruno Mars — died unexpectedly Saturday at the age off 55.
Hernandez suffered a brain aneurysm. She passed away at the Queens Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Hernandez was a hula dancer and singer who immigrated from the Philippines and nurtured Mars’ musical talents from a very young age.
Mars was set to kick off a tour in the U.S. later this month. No word on whether the death will affect the concert schedule.

A Tampa teenager is behind bars, charged with a hate crime for allegedly robbing, then shooting a 22-year-old man who identifies as a woman.

Anthony was born in London to Jamaican parents, and known to many radio listeners for his distinguished baritone voice. His radio career spanned over 25 years and he was there at the birth of Choice FM, Britain’s first independently black owned radio station with a licence back in March 1990.
In 2006 Choice FM appointed Anthony its new head of music, giving him responsibility for the station’s overall music programming. But in 2009 Anthony said goodbye to the UK and re-located to Lagos. He later went on to host his own show on Smooth 98.1 FM.
