Andre 3000′s Jimi Hendrix Biopic Begins
IFTN has confirms that Andre 3000 will play Jimi Hendrix in the legendary guitarist’s biopic, All Is By My Side and that it will begin production in Ireland later this month.
The project is currently in pre-production in Wicklow, with principal photography set to begin in three weeks time in Dublin and Wicklow. The shoot will last six weeks in total. ‘All Is By My Side’ will be co-produced by Irish producer Tristan Orpen Lynch for Dublin-based production company Subotica Entertainment alongside ‘Donnie Darko’ director Richard Kelly’s Darko Entertainment and Britain’s Matador Pictures. The three companies will produce the movie under the banner of Watchtower Film Productions, with offices based out of Ardmore Studios.

During his interview with Billboard, Yelawolf says he delayed working on his sophomore album, Love Story to finish his joint EP with the Blink-182 drummer. No release date yet on the project titled, Psycho White, but he tells what we can expect.
“Every time we would get in the lab we’d knock something out. We just collaborated and… had a meeting of the minds. There’s a lot of cool stuff we came up with.†The EP also includes a guest appearance by Rancid’s Tim Armstrong, Barker’s bandmate in Transplants, on a “punk-reggae†track called “Can’t Push Us Aroundâ€. I don’t know Travis’ situation fully, the legals of it, whether it’s going to be free or sold or whatever. It’ll be available. As artists, hopefully we can get it on the shelves, but we’ll get it out there somehow. I’m just hyped for people to hear it.â€

According to the latest Official Charts Company sales data, Adele’s 21 has now outsold Michael Jackson’s Thriller and, in doing so, has become the UK’s fifth biggest selling album of all-time.
As of this morning, the London-born singer’s 2011 second album has now sold 4,274,300 copies in the UK, 500 more than Thriller. And with 21 selling an average of 20,000 copies per week over the last four weeks, that lead will significantly increase when this week’s final Official Albums Chart sales data is published on Sunday.
“To add to her many landmark records, Adele’s achievement in overtaking Thriller in the all-time sales list is truly remarkable,†comments the Official Charts Company’s Managing Director Martin Talbot. “Thriller has long been recognised as one of the most iconic albums of all time – there is now no doubt that 21 can be spoken of in the same breath.â€
It’s been an amazing year-and-a-quarter for Adele; in the fifteen months since 21 was released, it has spent 66 weeks on the Official Albums Chart, 23 of those at Number 1, and has outsold Amy Winehouse’s Back To Black to become the biggest selling album of the 21st Century, and has also overtaken the sales of such seminal albums as Michael Jackson’s Bad, Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side Of The Moon and Dire Straits’ Brothers In Arms in the UK. To put that in perspective, one in six British households owns 21. She has also won six Grammy Awards, and two BRIT Awards.

A few months after Odd Future’s Earl Sweatshirt was released from a Samoan boarding school, The New York Times reveals that he has he has formed his own label that will we be under the Sony Records umbrella.
He’ll have his own imprint, Tan Cressida, to be distributed through Columbia. That places him in the Sony system alongside Odd Future, which was one of his priorities. He turned down offers with significantly higher advances and made sure that his contract allowed him to put the Odd Future logo on his albums. “I want it to look seamless,†he said. As for his mother’s concerns, “She knows she’s got nothing to worry about.â€

Jury Selection Begins In Lil Boosie Trial
Jury selection in the Lil Boosie trial begins today. WAFB reports that 700 people have been summoned this morning in Baton Rouge where 12 will be selected to decide on Bad Azz’s fate.
With the death penalty dropped, the rapper is charged for first-degree murder for allegedly setting up the murder of Terry Boyd in 2009. He’s currently held at the Angola State Prison and is facing life.
Lil Wayne (@liltunchi) Settles $20 Million Lawsuit
According to TMZ, Lil Wayne has settled a 20 Million Dollar Lawsuit filed against him by Darius “Deezle†Harrison over not getting paid for his work on 2008′s Tha Carter III, most notably his production work on the song “Lollipop.†Harrison filed the suit in March of 2011, claiming he was largely uncompensated for his work. Wayne initially denied the suit, saying Deezle had no basis. However, a deal was recently inked with the producer out of court, and the case has been dismissed. Deezle wasn’t the only producer who claims to have been screwed out of royalty payments. Play-N-Skillz sued Weezy in June 2011 for unpaid royalties on the same LP, as did David Kirkwood that same month.
