Kid Cudi Sadden Over Fan’s Death

On Christmas Day, Kid Cudi’s fan Ben Breedlove, died from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). A week prior to his death, Ben shared his experience with the disease via YouTube and said during his last health scare, he had a vision of being with Cudi.

After learning of Ben’s passing, Cudi wrote on his tumblr page and expressed his condolences.

Iam so sad about Ben Breedlove. I watched the video he left for the world to see, and him seeing me in detail, in his vision really warmed my heart. I broke down, Iam to tears because I hate how life is so unfair. This has really touched my heart in a way I cant describe, this is why I do what I do. Why I write my life, and why I love you all so much. Life is really fucked up sometimes, but I know Ben is at Peace, and I hope he gets a chance to sit and talk with my Dad. We love you Ben. Forever. Thank you for loving me. To Ben’s family, you raised a real hero, he’s definately mine. You have my love.

Nas Reflects On It Was Written

Nas’s sophomore album It Was Written turned 15 years old back in July. And in a recent interview with XXL, he reflects on his sophomore album.

What was your inspiration for “I Gave You Power?”
A Premier beat. Just a beat from Premier… in the studio. Back then I was around a lot more guns and my reality was that. There was no armed security back then, it was just us moving around so that was a lot more in my world.

I remember you had “Silent Murder” on the cassette. What made you put a bonus track on cassette at a time where things were moving to CDs?
Well, the cassette still wasn’t dead. They was still sellin’, so we figured, the cassette is what we grew up on. CDs is takin’ over so we need an extra attraction to get people to not buy the CDs, and also try to keep the cassette alive. We needed something to help keep the cassette alive so that’s what we did with Stretch and that was his last works, that was his last works with me. I miss him. I do. I think about him from time to time. Great dude. He was a real good dude.

Not too many people fight back when the U.S. Government comes after them for money — but MC Hammer is not most people … so he’s standing up to The Man.

As TMZ first reported, the government filed a lawsuit against Hammer and his wife to get the $779,585 it claimed he owed in back taxes.

But Hammer isn’t about to just write a check … he filed a response in federal court this week claims he settled that debt already. In fact, he’s asking the court to grant him a judgement to recoup his legal fees.

Nelly Sued by American Express for Credit Card Debt

From TMZ:

Nelly ran up a $20,403.64 credit card bill with American Express — which seems totally reasonable for a big name rap star. Just one problem … AMEX says he never paid it!

The credit card company filed a lawsuit against Nelly (real name Cornell Iral Haynes, Jr) in Missouri back in October to try and get their money back (plus another $3,000 in attorney’s fees). So far though, they claim Nelly has refused to pay what he owes.

A court hearing is scheduled for January 9. Calls to Nelly’s camp were not returned.

Quote Of The Day: Tattoo Artist Responds To Drake’s Threats

In response to this. That woman is still an idiot, by the way.

“Please say that Drake actually wants to f*ck me up. I will totally fight Drake. One on one. Tell him to name a time and place. Can anybody confirm that this Drake guy actually wants to fight? Too funny! A dude who probably wipes his ass with 100$ bills actually cares about me calling him an R&B goof nugget is hilarious. I didn’t know who he was before I did the tattoo…Don’t see why he cares that I said he was soft as baby sh*t. Really though. This Drake sh*t is the funniest sh*t ever. Getting called out by a famous R&B dude wasn’t on my bucket list, but I’m stoked.”

Tyreek Amir Jacobs Killed over Concords , Not True

We reported earlier that an 18 Year old Kid from Washington Dc was murdered for his Concords which was released today.

Before the turn of midnight, the release of the “Concord” Air Jordan 11’s had caused mayhem at several malls and shopping centers across America. The rumor of violence received a lot of attention around the DMV when there was word that an 18-year-old Tyreek Amir Jacobs was murdered for his Concords.

The story started to get a lot of attention across social media including a retweet from CNBC’s Sports Business reporter Darren Rovell, the supposed victim’s name became a trending topic on twitter.

With a little journalism work by Justin Fenton at the Baltimore Sun, this breaking story appeared to be nothing more than a well orchestrated rumor. First off, local police in the DC area refuted hearing any reports of such a crime. The next big thing uncovered was that the photo of the supposed victim, Tyreek Amir Jacobs, appears to be lifted from the NAACP’s Legal Defenders blog the just so happens to be a stock photo anyone can purchase for $1.43.
