The Wu-Tang Clan Were Investigated For Two Murders In The 90’s

Members of the Wu-Tang Clan were investigated for allegedly ordering two men’s murders in 1999, according to recently released documents.

The allegations come from a federal trial of two Staten Island drug kingpins, brothers Anthony and Harvey Christian, stating that two men may have been murdered because they robbed Wu-Tang founding members RZA and Raekwon’s family members. Last October, the Christian brothers were found guilty of running a major drug-dealing operation for 20 years and Anthony Christian was also found guilty of orchestrating a 1999.

With sentencing against the drug lords on its way, Anthony Christian’s lawyer Michael Gold has requested “all police files” about the Wu-Tang Clan’s alleged involvement in the murder of 17-year-old Jerome (Boo Boo) Estella, as well as those of a second man named Corey (Shank Bank) Brooker. He contends that information in Wu-Tang Clan member Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s FBI file alleges the murder was pulled off “at the instruction of members of the Wu-Tang Clan.” Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s FBI file was released in a heavily-redacted form in 2012.

“These reports seem to suggest someone else was liable for those murders. I’m not suggesting that Wu-Tang committed these crimes. The FBI did,” Gold told the Staten Island Advance. “What I’m trying to ascertain is their stated belief in an official file that Wu-Tang ordered this homicide.”

In response, the federal prosecutors issued a filing last month describing what information they had sent in the trial’s discovery process, noting RZA and Raekwon’s possible role in the killings. They stated Gold already had all reverent information prior to the trial and that none of it provided evidence that might exonerate his client.

DMX Arrested For Child Support (And Gets A Break)

DMX’s glorious month or so of freedom came to a swift end when — once again — cops busted him on a contempt of court warrant.

The rapper got popped Tuesday in Yonkers, NY on the warrant from a July court date for allegedly failing to pay child support to his ex-wife, Tashera Simmons … with whom he has 4 kids.

When X appeared in court on Tuesday afternoon, he begged the judge to let him out of jail because he needed to be out so he could perform scheduled gigs and earn money. The judge had mercy and released DMX without bail. He’ll have to be back in court in November to work out child support issues with Tashera.

DMX spent 2 months in a Buffalo jail for not paying child support to another woman. He just got out in September.

Migos’ Offset Denied Bond For The Third Time

For the third time, Bulloch County Superior Court Judge John R. “Robbie” Turner has denied bond for a rapper being held in jail for drugs, guns, battery and other charges.

Kiari Cephus, 23, of Brooks Forest Drive in Lawrenceville, also known as “Offset,” a rapper with the group Migos, appeared in court Oct. 9 to seek bond for the third time since his arrest on drug and gun charges.

He was first arrested April 18, along with fellow Migos members Kirshnick Khari Ball, 20, of Saddle Shoals Drive in Lawrenceville, known by the stage name “Takeoff,” and Quavious Keyatz Marshall, 24, of Rye House Court in Lawrenceville, known by the stage name “Quavo,” as well as several members of their entourage.

The arrests came during the Spring Bling concert at Georgia Southern University after police smelled marijuana smoke coming from vans in which the band arrived. Officers found guns and illegal drugs in the vans.

Cephus, held without bond due to previous charges and convictions, racked up more charges after a May 2 incident in the Bulloch County Jail in which he reportedly caused a disturbance and physically attacked another inmate. He was charged with riot in a penal institution and battery.

Witnesses testified in court during the third bond hearing and claimed Cephus did not incite a riot. Turner said that he would review jail surveillance video from the incident before deciding whether to grant bond.

According to Bulloch County Clerk of Court Heather McNeal, Turner filed his decision to deny bond Monday afternoon.

Charges Cephus faces include marijuana possession, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, carrying a weapon in a school safety zone (felony), possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, battery and riot in a penal institution.

Cephus’ attorneys asked for bond on two previous occasions: once in May and again in June. Turner denied the requests both times.

Kidd Cole (‘Catfish’) Being Held Without Bond Over Metro Terror Threats

A D.C. man who appeared in the show ‘Catfish’ and was arrested for making terror threats against the Metro transit system was ordered to stay behind bars without bail.

Jerez Nehemiah Stone-Coleman, also known as Kidd Cole, was arrested by Metro Transit Police Wednesday morning on charges of making terroristic threats against Metro stations, buses and trains in the District area.

Metro Transit Police received a total of 11 calls between December 12, 2014 and May 12, 2015 reporting bomb threats, and/or hostage situations at or directed against Metro stations, trains and buses, officials said. Stone-Coleman would call about destructive devices and acts of violence.

Emergency crews responded to every case, however the threat information made in every call turned out to be false, according to officials.

Freddie Gray’s Mother Reportedly Attempted Suicide

WJZ has learned that the mother of Freddie Gray has attempted suicide.

Rick Ritter has more on what happened.

WJZ has confirmed with multiple sources that Gloria Darden, the mother of Freddie Gray, tried to take her own life late Wednesday night.

The call came in around 9:35 p.m. Wednesday for a person needing medical attention in North Baltimore.

Sources tell WJZ that’s where Gloria Darden, the mother of Freddie Gray, attempted suicide and sustained superficial wounds.

Neighbors watched as first responders arrived on scene.

“I seen the police and ambulance right there. They were taking the lady out and putting her on the stretcher bed,” said Diana Bruce, North Baltimore.

Sources say Gray’s mother was taken from that North Baltimore neighborhood to a nearby hospital, where no surgery or stitches were needed.

Billy Murphy, the lawyer for the Gray family, released a statement Thursday night, saying in part: “…she is still mourning the loss of her son. The family asks that you continue to pray for her and for them.”

Lamar Odom Is Reportedly Out Of His Coma, Able To Communicate

According to E! News, Odom opened his eyes on Friday and saw Khloe Kardashian, his estranged wife. He said “Hey, baby,” to her before giving her a thumbs up and falling back asleep.

A source has also said that Odom is off the breathing tube.

This is good news for Odom’s friends and family, as doctors told them that Odom had likely suffered multiple strokes and that there was a chance of severe mental or physical impairment, especially the longer he remained unresponsive.

Kardashian, along with several of her family members and Odom’s father, his children and their mother, has been in Nevada since soon after Odom was discovered unconscious in a Nevada brothel.

Eddie Murphy To Play Marion Barry In Spike Lee-Directed Biopic

A/V Club is reporting that Eddie Murphy will be taking on the role of D.C.’s mayor for life in an upcoming biopic, which will be directed by none other than Spike Lee. It’s would also (hopefully) mark Murphy’s return to making great movies. Maybe.

Murphy has just signed on to star in Spike Lee’s HBO biopic of Marion Barry, the civil rights activist turned Washington D.C. “mayor-for-life” turned go-to punchline for anyone making a “crack cocaine” joke from the years 1990 to whatever year Being Bobby Brown premiered. The project is HBO’s second stab at telling Barry’s story, having first developed a take more than a decade ago with Jamie Foxx in the lead and a script by Chris Rock—one that was probably less than sympathetic, given that approximately 40 percent of all Marion Barry jokes came from Chris Rock. This version has a script from Three Kings screenwriter John Ridley (currently working on Lee’s upcoming series Da Brick) and source material that includes the 1994 book Dream City: Race, Power, And The Decline Of Washington, D.C. from journalists Harry Jaffe and Tom Sherwood—an account that wasn’t all that flattering either, but at least this one will be thoroughly researched. The film is as-yet-untitled.
