T.I. Reveals Two Possible Album Titles

In T.I.’s first post-jail interview, he said he had two titles in mind for his next album. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, T.I revealed the two potential titles he’s currently juggling with. Decisions, decisions.

“The first of two album titles I’m debating is Kill The King because in all that I’ve gone through I’ve observed how people respond to my circumstances, and I always wonder ‘Why ya’ll coming at me like this?’ But I thought, ‘How do you expect them to act?’” he explains. “Life is a game of chess and the object is to kill the king. If you anoint yourself king, you have made yourself a target. The second one is self-explanatory – Trouble.

Nicki Minaj Covers W Magazine

You can check out some quotes below and more pictures after the jump. Artistically, this is dope.
“I wanted to play with the public image of a female hip-hop star. During my entire career, I have always been fascinated by powerful women in history. I have spent a lot of time researching the ways they were represented in art and how their images were used to mold the public imagination—and to convey aesthetic and philosophical ideas about beauty and sexual desire. My main interest has been to link the historical artistic approach to female representation to contemporary icons of the media era.”

For W, I wanted to turn the lovely Nicki Minaj into a powdered 18th-century courtesan.”

“In her performances, Minaj makes very explicit and challenging use of her beauty and her body, so I thought of comparing her to some of the most famous courtesans in history: the Marquise de Montespan, Comtesse du Barry, Madame de Pompadour, and Madame Rimsky-Korsakov. My idea was to reproduce four iconic portraits of some of the most fascinating females of the past in a series starring an American pop-culture role model. We tried to re-create those original portraits using similar furniture, props, and clothing, à la Visconti. Luckily enough, the result came out as surreal as it could be, just as I wished.”

Rick Ross Suffers ANOTHER Seizure on Private Jet

A quick video he took to show that he was okay. Apparently he wasn’t.
Update: He is reportedly currently in stable condition.

Damn. From TMZ (once again):

Rick Ross’ private jet made an emergency landing in Birmingham, Alabama, 2 hours ago, en route to his concert in Memphis … and TMZ has learned he suffered another seizure.

It’s the second time today where a plane in which the rapper was a passenger made an emergency landing. We broke the story … Rick suffered a seizure this morning on a Delta flight that returned to the Ft. Lauderdale airport.

Rick went to the hospital, was released and then took off at 5:07 PM ET from Ft. Lauderdale to make his concert tonight in Memphis. But at 5:44 PM CDT, the plane was diverted and landed in Birmingham after Rick had a seizure on board.

Rick is currently in a Birmingham hospital emergency room. We do not know his condition.

Rick was supposed to be on stage in Memphis at 7:30 PM ET.

T.I. Signs With Hip-Hop Since 1978 Management

T.I. who co-founded his own record label Grand Hustle Entertainment with longtime manager Jason Geter in 2003 and has been operating under the Warner umbrella with distribution by Atlantic Records since, will now also be represented by Hip Hop Since 1978, the firm that also represents Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Drake and others. “Gee’s always been a big part of our operation just not in the capacity of manager,” said T.I., in reference to “Gee” Roberson, HHS1978’s co-CEO, who recently left his position as VP of A&R at Atlantic Records to become Chairman at Geffen.

“[From] the executive producer standpoint and A&R standpoint, he made gigantic contributions to probably the past three or four T.I. albums, but he’s assumed a large responsibility over at Geffen so that kind of took a big part of my team away. When [Jason Geter] and I both agreed that we would be considering expanding the management team, and then sat down and talked about possible candidates, he was definitely one of the first people that came up.”

When asked when the arrangement with HHS1978 was formalized, T.I. demurred. “Once again, it’s a team, it’s a collective,” he said. “It’s an unconventional arrangement as far as management. Of course you also have Grand Hustle management – Jason still maintains his position. You have Gee and [Hip Hop Since] ’78 who come in with their expertise in several areas, who works alongside [Jason]. And then you got Category 5, Brian Sher [founder of Category 5 Entertainment, formerly of ICM], who’s there from the film and television area. I’ve got different pieces of management who have extreme levels of expertise in their areas… We feel that’s the best way to have appropriate execution and to take advantage of all the opportunities that are ever present in the marketplace for me.”

UPDATE: Rick Ross Reportedly Okay After Suffering Seizure

UPDATE: People (including artists like Meek Mill & Wale) are confirming on Twitter that he is in fact okay. Good to hear.
From TMZ:

Rick Ross is unconscious and paramedics are desperately trying to resuscitate him.

Rick was on a flight going from Ft. Lauderdale to Memphis today, when the rapper lost consciousness. The plane was forced to make an emergency landing.

Emergency workers tell us the call came in at 12:55 PM ET … the caller reported a seizure.

Ross is currently on a gurney at the airport, and an eyewitness tells us EMT workers are administering CPR. Members of Rick’s entourage are standing by, some of them extremely emotionally upset.

UPDATE…also from TMZ: A witness tells TMZ, Rick fell unconscious right after take-off.

We’re told his entourage jumped out of their seats to alert plane personnel — at which point a doctor on board administered CPR on the rapper.

The plane made an emergency landing right away — and we’re told, as Rick was being wheeled off the aircraft, he appeared to show signs of life.

Vybz Kartel Launches Skin Bleaching Cream

No comment. From Karen Civil:
Fans of Vybz Kartel were a bit stunned and outraged earlier this year when the Jamaican dancehall artist appeared several shades lighter than his normal chocolate brown complexion and exclaimed: “This is my new image.”

Now the artist, who is also awaiting trial on a charge of conspiracy to murder, is bottling up his new image in a line of cosmetics for men which includes a number of skin lightening items.

Check out a picture of said product and read more after the jump.

Kartel originally claimed to use cake soap to lighten his skin but after the Jamaican manufacturer of the clothes-bleaching product, Blue Power Group, denied his claims, Kartel said that he actually used his own special concoction which will soon be available under the Vybz label.

The 35-year-old Kingston native who obviously sees nothing wrong with such practices, likened skin lightening to straightening your hair or getting a tan—guess he failed to realize neither of those processes is permanent. In a statement to Vibe.com, he was rather straight forward about his thoughts on the backlash: “When black women stop straightening their hair and wearing wigs and weaves, when white women stop getting lip and butt injections and implants, when bald men stop getting hair transplants, and when people stop getting nose jobs and cosmetic surgery then I’ll stop using the ‘cakesoap’ and we’ll all live naturally ever after. Until then F**k you all.”

Diddy Saves Boys & Girls Club Of Harlem

From Rap Radar:

Diddy saves the day. After learning that the Boys & Girls Club of Harlem was on the verge of shutting down due to lack of funding, Puff brought more than enough of his benjamins in donation to help keep the four locations alive during their recovery time. Board Member and Resource Development Chairman, Willie C. Bentley, Jr. says:

“Mr. Combs’ contribution comes at a time when we were faced with the possibility of eliminating existing programs and/or club sites. 100% of Mr. Combs’ contribution will go directly to the young people, and provide educational, recreational and social enrichment programs allowing us to move forward as a club, uninterrupted.”
