Beyonce To Drop An Album This June

R.I.P. to the competition. From NME:
Beyonce is reportedly set to release her new album in June.
News of the singer working on new material with Odd Future and Sleigh Bells has been reported in recent months, and now it seems that she’s hoping to pull it all together for a summer release.
Sony Music Australia chief Denis Handlin told the Daily Telegraph of the plan, adding that the singer was hoping to tour the album extensively.
“It was just amazing,” he said of the songs he’d heard on the record. “She came in and played us six tracks from the album. She wants to do a big tour off the back of this record… these songs, the best description I can give is groundbreaking; she’s gone to another level.”
Beyonce is also set to headline the Glastonbury festival in June.
The new album will be her first since 2008’s ‘I Am… Sasha Fierce’.

Fat Trel Reportedly No Longer Part Of The Board Administration; Company Releases Confirming Statement

The statement below from The Board Administration was spotted on WKYS:
“The Board Administration produced Fat Trel’s critically acclaimed “No Secrets†Mixtape and leveraged company resources to successfully introduce and market the project to a wider demographic audience in the District of Columbia and beyond.
As a business with a strong marketing foundation, it was our intention to catapult Fat Trel into the fabric of DC’s hip-hop community and strategically position him as DC’s next-big-thing with solid track production and features, artist collaboration, viral videos, and social media buzz generation. Having experienced large domestic and international success with our production of Wale’s “More About Nothing†we possessed the experience, relationships, and synergy necessary to take Fat Trel to the next level and professionalize his aesthetic from mixtape concept, artwork, features, production, and beyond. While we did not collaborate with Fat Trel on his current mixtape project, we wish him well in all professional endeavors and hope his new effort is a noteworthy follow-up to “No Secretsâ€.
The Board Administration’s Official Artist Roster includes: Black Cobain, Mz. Sasha, The Slutty Boyz, Tiara Thomas, and Fatz Da Big Fella, all of whom will release highly-anticipated mixtapes in the coming months ahead.”
(Jon’s Note: I heard Fat Trel’s latest project-April Foolz, which drops Friday–last night during their listening session. In my opinion, it is in fact a noteworthy follow-up. And is there a particular peason as to why

DJ Megatron Shot & Killed In Long Island

A Staten Island deejay and rising hip-hop star was shot to death while walking to a local bodega to buy a cigar early Sunday, police and a close friend said.
DJ Megatron was down the block from his Staten Island home when his killer approached about 2 a.m. and fired a single shot into his torso, cops said.
The 32-year-old regular on BET’s “106 & Park,” whose real name was Corey McGriff, died on the street – his eyes facing the sky and a baseball cap at his side.
“It is just earth-shattering,” his mom, Louvenia McGriff, 60, told the Daily News by phone from her Georgia home.
“Words can’t describe the way my husband and I feel right now. I just don’t know how we’re going to make it without him. He was our golden child.”
Detectives combed the crime scene for several hours but no witnesses came forward, and there was no arrests.
Nor did cops have a motive.
