Courtney Love Claims She Wrote Recently Revealed Kurt Cobain Note

Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain

Recently, we posted a story about a note — revealed by Seattle police — that was supposedly written by Kurt Cobain…the important of the letter was what is spoke of wife Courtney Love in a pretty unfavorable matter. Now, Seattle Times is reporting that Love says she was the one to wrote said note, not her husband:

…in an email Friday to The Seattle Times, Love said that she, not Cobain, wrote the note and that it dates from 1991, not 1994, when Cobain died by suicide.

Found in Cobain’s wallet by police, the note reads in part, “Do you Kurt Cobain take Courtney Michelle Love to be your lawful shredded wife, even when she’s a bitch with zits and siphoning all [your] money for doping and whoring … ”

The CBS News story said the note raised “further questions about what role [Cobain’s] famously troubled personal life and marriage played in his demise.”

However, Cobain and Love typically traded such notes, laced with sarcasm and course references to sexuality and drug use.

The note was written on stationery from the Phoenix Hotel in San Francisco. Love said she penned it on New Year’s Eve 1991, the night Nirvana appeared in San Francisco with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam.

While the full note was not initially published, the last line is a pledge for the couple to have sex “at least once a week, O.K.”

Love’s authorship is supported by two sources who examined the handwriting, including Love’s sister, Nicole Jon Carroll, and a former employee of the Kurt Cobain estate who has closely examined Cobain’s and Love’s journals.

President Obama & Joel McHale At 2014 White House Correspondents’ Dinner

“It’ll be harder to convince the American people that Hilary was born in Kenya.” – Pres. Obama to FOX News

You can check out both President Barack Obama and comedian/actor Joel McHale’s complete comedy routine at the 2014 White House Correspondents’ Dinner (McHale’s is below). From CNN:

President Obama slipped into the role of comedian-in-chief Saturday night and took jabs at journalists, lawmakers, celebrities and — most pointedly — his own administration’s botched rollout of HealthCare.gov.

Remarks that would have otherwise put him in hot water drew applause at the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner from an audience comprising some of the most famous faces in politics, entertainment and sports. The dinner is known in Washington circles as “nerd prom.”

****************************************

Adrien Broner Beats Carlos Molina; Says He Wants Manny Pacquiao

Adrien Broner and his socks won a pretty important comeback bout by unanimous decision (99-91, 98-92, 100-90)…and then calls it a “sparring match” on TV. He also states that he “beat the f*** out a Mexican” (above) before calling out Manny Pacquiao. With Rick Ross in the background. Eh.

Just for the hell of it, enjoy Rozay brings Broner in the ring, once again with Wing Stop cup in hand (below).

Eddie Murphy Returns To The ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ Franchise

AFI & Walt Disney Pictures' "A Cinematic Celebration Of Jerry Bruckheimer"

Spotted on Black Film:

Seems that everything old is new again for Paramount Pictures. The studio has elected to resurrect one of its earliest and successful franchises along with its star attraction. Eddie Murphy is coming back to play Axel Foley in a new story to “Beverly Hills Cop.”

Brett Ratner will direct the film from a script by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec. Set for a March 25, 2016 release, early reports says that the film will find Axel Foley “returning to his Detroit roots.”

With the exception of “Beverly Hills Cop III,” the first two installments took in $235M in 1984 and $153M in 1987 domestically at the box office. The last one, which came seven years later, did poorly with $42M. Overall, the franchise brought in over $700M worldwide for the studio.

Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced ‘Cop’ and ‘Cop II,’ is back to produce the new film.

There were plans to bring the franchise to the small screen with Brandon T. Jackson starring as Foley’s son and Murphy possible coming in on a recurring basis, but the pilot didn’t get picked up.

Video Of Mayweather/Maidana Gloves Controversy Released

We previously mentioned that the big Mayweather/Maidana fight almost didn’t happen over boxing gloves….above is the video showing what went down. Spotted on Complex:

If you were looking forward to seeing Floyd Mayweather and Marcos Maidana square off in the ring tonight, we nearly had some bad news for you. Following the weigh-in last night, things took an unexpected turn when Mayweather’s manager, Leonard Ellerbe, stated that the custom blue-and-white Everlast gloves which Maidana planned on wearing for their bout didn’t have enough padding in the knuckle area. Check out the video above to see how the whole dispute went down.

Eventually, Maidana’s camp decided to switch a pair of Cleto Reyes gloves which the Nevada State Athletic Commission have already approved. However, Mayweather’s camp doesn’t want Marcos to wear what SB Nation refers to as “probably the most ‘puncher friendly’ gloves in the top end of the boxing glove market” and they’ve went as far as to threaten to pull out of the fight if they don’t get their way.

2 Chainz & Rick Ross Join Floyd Mayweather At Weigh-In; Gloves Controversy?

Seems like overkill, but then again — nothing is overkill when it comes to the flamboyantly rich Floyd Mayweather, Jr., who appeared at the MGM Grand with 2 Chainz and Rick Ross (additional footage here) to do his official weigh-in before his boxing match against Marcos Maidana…

…which may not happen due to an apparent dispute over boxing gloves. Yep. Spotted on NY Daily News, where you can read more on the story:

Shortly after the weigh-in for Saturday’s fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Marcos Maidana, a collective gasp went through the media center: the bout was in jeopardy because of a gloves dispute with one of Mayweather’s chief advisers claiming the bout was off.

As if the welterweight unification match didn’t need any more controversy, along comes Glovesgate.

A day before a fight, it’s customary for boxers to settle on the gloves they will wear. On Friday, Mayweather’s camp objected to a certain customized style blue Everlast MX Boxing glove that Maidana wanted to use.

After Mayweather loudly protested the use of the gloves, the Nevada Athletic Commission inspected the pair and ruled they “were not allowed,” according to Golden Boy CEO, Richard Schaefer.

“Ain’t no padding in the gloves,” Mayweather said, according to footage of the scene recorded by Fighthype.com. “It’s already broken in.”

Side note: who spotted Ross sporting a Wing Stop cup?

Columbus Short Reveals Video Of Violent Wife In Fight

From TMZ:

Columbus Short shot this video to show his estranged wife was the violent one in this relationship … and one thing’s for sure — she can be a real fighter.

Here’s the back story … Columbus was arrested for domestic violence for an incident at his house February 18 … accused of beating his wife Tanee McCall (the woman on top in the video).

The next day — after Columbus bailed out of jail — he asked his friend Tilly Key to come to his house to pick him up. We’re told Tanee went ballistic when she saw Tilly in the house, and that’s when Tanee attacked.

Tilly wanted TMZ to post the video, to show Tanee is violent and even threatened her life.

Tilly says she suffered a concussion, a cervical sprain, multiple contusions, a lumbar sprain and lumbar strain.

TMZ broke the story … Tanee has filed for divorce and got a protective order forcing Columbus out of the house.

Ab-Soul Tweets About Leaking His Album; Top Dawg Shuts It Down

At this point, we should all be aware that any album from Top Dawg Ent. isn’t dropping until all parties involved (read: Top Dawg himself) decides it’s the right time. The formula works, too — just ask ScHoolboy Q, who’s long-awaited Oxymoron debuted at the top of the charts.

Fast forward to now, and it looks it Ab-Soul is getting impatient with the wait for his album (which I’m dumb hype about!), as can be seen in some recent Tweets. What can also be seen is Top Dawg putting the line in the sand for anyone to tries to leak the project. You can check these tweets out above…

For the record: aside from Kendrick Lamar, I’m definitely hoping that Soul scores a release date soon.

Donald Sterling Speaks: “I Wish I Had Just Paid Her Off”

20140502-193554.jpg

LOL. Spotted on USA Today:

Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has made his first public comments since the release of a racist audio recording led to his lifetime ban from the NBA.

“I wish I had just paid her off,” Sterling told DuJour magazine, a Los Angeles lifestyle publication, speaking of V. Stiviano, the girlfriend to whom Sterling made the recorded comments.

The quote is the only one released thus far from what the magazine calls an exclusive discussion. Sterling told DuJour he only would do future interviews with Barbara Walters and the NBA.

UPDATE: Naya Rivera Reportedly Dropped From Columbia Records

naya-rivera-michael-kors-fall-2014-show-1

UPDATE: We received the below statement, directly from Naya Rivera’s publicist:

“The newest story claiming that Naya Rivera was dropped from her recording contract with Columbia Records is absolutely false. If the ‘news’ outlets who put out this story had bothered to contact anyone from her team they would have learned this was false. To be clear, any rumors or statements made as fact, that Naya Rivera was fired or let go from ‘Glee’ or dropped from her recording contract, are categorically false. Someone obviously has an agenda to damage Naya’s good name and the media are failing at their duty to responsibly vet their sources and verify what is true and what is not. Naya’s attorneys are prepared to take any and all legal action to enforce and protect her rights.”

****************************************

Spotted on Billboard:

Naya Rivera is no longer on the Columbia Records roster, multiple sources have confirmed to Billboard. The “Glee” star signed with the label in 2011, and did not release a full-length with Columbia.

The 27-year-old, who plays Santana Lopez on the hit Fox series, was one of the first “Glee” actors to land a solo record deal, and announced plans to begin work on an album in summer 2011. Last September, “Sorry,” Rivera’s debut single featuring then-boyfriend Big Sean, was released; the song did not chart on the Hot 100 and has sold 34,000 downloads to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

After getting engaged in last October, Rivera and Big Sean abruptly called off the wedding last month. “Sean wishes Naya nothing but the best and it is still his hope that they can continue to work through their issues privately,” read a statement from Big Sean’s camp about the broken engagement.

Meanwhile, rumors persist that Rivera has been fired from “Glee,” which is winding down its fifth season. Although a rep for the singer/actress called reports of her firing “absolutely untrue” to The Hollywood Reporter, other reports have claimed that a feud with co-star Lea Michele has led to Rivera’s permanent dismissal.

Donald Sterling Is Reportedly Battling Cancer

Donald Sterling

Spotted on the New York Post:

Disgraced racist Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling is battling cancer — surprising those around him by beating the final buzzer for as long as he has, sources told The Post on Thursday.

“They thought he would die two years ago,” one source said of Sterling, who on Tuesday was banned for life from the NBA for his now-infamous recorded racist rant.

“People have been predicting his imminent demise. I’m sure he has the best . . . drugs money can buy,” said the source, who works closely with pro sports teams. “He can do anything to keep himself alive.”

The source said some of the medication Sterling has been taking is responsible for the puffy appearance of his face.

Another source said Sterling, 80, was specifically suffering from prostate cancer.

In an ironic twist, Sterling refused to pay for prostate-cancer surgery a decade ago for then-Clippers assistant coach Kim Hughes.

“I contacted the Clippers about medical coverage and they said the surgery wouldn’t be covered,” Hughes told The Journal Times of Racine, Wis., in 2011.

“They said if they did it for one person, they’d have to do it for everybody else.”
Four Clippers players chipped in to cover the $70,000 cost.

Meanwhile, Sterling has been phoning friends for support, sources said.

Meek Mill Loses Civil Suit Against Philadelphia Police

jpeg

Spotted on Philly.com:

The local rapper known as Meek Mill repeated two words over and over Thursday after losing his civil rights lawsuit against two city police officers he accused of detaining him illegally two years ago.

“I quit,” Robert Williams said, bolting from the courtroom moments after a federal jury delivered its verdict. “I quit everything . . . except for music.”

The 26-year-old North Philadelphia native made a hasty exit from the federal courthouse, leaving his attorneys behind.

“They ain’t from where I’m from,” Williams said of the jurors in a brief elevator interview. “I don’t really expect them to understand.”

Earlier, Williams’ attorney, Dennis Cogan, had asked the panel to award his client more than $400,000 over a 10-hour detention on Oct. 31, 2012.
The delay and Williams’ subsequent detainment, Cogan said, caused the rapper to miss his flight to an important party to launch his debut album, cost him potential endorsement money, and tarnished his reputation among his fans.

“I’m not saying, feel sorry for his financial situation,” Cogan said. “But the law is the law.”

But the eight-member panel, made up mostly of white jurors, – took less than two hours to reject those claims, finding that police had not violated Williams’ civil rights.

“Although we voted unanimously that Mr. Williams’ Fourth Amendment rights were not violated, we feel strongly both the plaintiff and defendant were in the wrong and made mistakes,” the panel wrote to the judge. Outside court, jurors declined to comment on what they meant by that.

BEEF: Floyd Mayweather Vs. Shantel Jackson Vs. Nelly (Vs. 50 Cent)

floyd

Spotted on Vlad TV:

Floyd Mayweather recently put his former girlfriend Shantel Jackson on full blast on Facebook, by posting a sonogram photo of their unborn twins.  Floyd stated in the caption that he broke up with her because she had an abortion and he is “totally against killing babies.”

Soon after that post hit the web, Nelly, Miss Jackson’s rumored new love interest, took to Twitter where he posted a tweet that many fans took to be a subliminal address at Floyd Mayweather.

“Why be rich with poor character..?” Nelly tweeted.

Fans were quick to jump on the post, with many believing that it was obviously intended for Floyd.  While several agreed with him and praised him for posting the tweet, others wrote things like “shots fired,” “Floyd gonna knock you out,” while some others directly added Floyd’s Twitter name to the comment to make sure he sees it.

Not to be outdone….here’s 50 Cent giving his thoughts on the matter:

Ukip Accused Of Racism Over Mo Farah Comments, More

Wycherley facebook comment

Spotted on The Guardian:

A fresh Ukip candidate was embroiled in a row over racism on Tuesday when it was discovered he had taken to Facebook to argue that Team GB Olympic star, Mo Farah, isn’t British because he is an “African”.

The revelation came as a Ukip candidate who had urged Lenny Henry to “go back to a black country” left the party and two other members were suspended in a bid to clean up the party’s image. Nigel Farage claimed the party may have been infiltrated by people trying to bring it down.

simultaneously it emerged that David Wycherley, standing for Ukip candidate for the Rushall-Shelfield ward in Walsall, had asked his Facebook friends to explain “how Mo Farah, an African … has won a Gold medal for Great Britain”.

Farah, who grew up in Hounslow in London, became a double Olympic champion for Team GB at the 2012 Olympics and was later awarded a CBE by HM the Queen for services to athletics.

In other comments Wycherley joked about “starving Africans” whilst complaining about his water bill.

The party announced on Tuesday that candidate William Henwood had resigned after he urged the comedian Lenny Henry to go back to a “black country”. A Ukip spokesman said Henwood had resigned his membership of Ukip after it was “mutually agreed this would be the best course” acknowledging that his comments had “caused enormous offence”.
