From CNN:

At least 20 students were injured Wednesday morning in a stabbing incident at Franklin Regional Senior High School in the Pittsburgh area, said Dan Stevens, an emergency management agency spokesman.

Four people were flown to hospitals by helicopter, he said.

A message on the Franklin Regional School District’s website said all of its elementary schools were closed after the incident, and “the middle school and high school students are secure.”

Authorities said a suspect was in custody.

Information on what led to the stabbings and the conditions of the injured were not immediately released. The students range in age from 14 to 17, Stevens said.

The school is in Murrysville, about 15 miles east of downtown Pittsburgh.

Students were being released to their parents, Stevens said.

CNN first learned of the stabbings on Twitter.

From TMZ:

Turns out two Beyonce fans liked the singer too much for their own good … they got trampled at one of her concerts and now they’ve turned on her in a lawsuit.

Raquel Castellanos and Gabriella Davidson claim they went to the United Center in Chicago last December with general admission tickets and arrived super early so they could get close to the stage.

They were at the front when the doors opened and there was a stampede. According to the lawsuit the 2 women were trampled by a rushing mob and knocked to the ground … leaving them unconscious with broken bones and other injuries.

The women claim the venue did not set up proper procedure for entering the arena … so reports the local CBS affiliate in Chicago.

The women were taken to a local hospital and never got to see the show.

As for why they sued Beyonce … well, she’s the queen bee.

Al Sharpton Denies Report That He Was Paid FBI Informant

AL-SHARPTON

Madame Noire reports:

His activities, the story says, went on for four years during the mid-1980s. While Rev. Al doesn’t deny that he worked with authorities, he says the lengths to which he worked, as described by The Smoking Gun, are “crazy.”

“If I provided all the information they claimed I provided, I should be given a ticker-tape parade,” Rev. Sharpton told The New York Post.

The site says it got its information from a variety of affidavits, FBI documents, and even interviews with the Genovese family. In meetings where he met with crime family members, the report says, there was talk of a “wide range of mob business” all captured by a wire secreted into the meetings. “Sharpton’s briefcase–a specially customized Hartmann model–recorded his every word,” TSG says. Information Sharpton collected is alleged to have been used for further bugs and wire tapping to collect evidence against members of the mob.

Sharpton, who spoke with TSG about the allegations, says he wasn’t an informant, and accused those of making these claims of trying to undermine his civil rights activism. “In his most recent book, The Rejected Stone, which hit best seller lists following its October 2013 publication, Sharpton claimed to have once been ‘set up by the government,’ whose agents later leaked ‘false information’ that ‘could have gotten me killed,’” TSG writes.

“He denied being paid to snitch and said he never carried a briefcase with a listening device,” the Post adds.

The TSG article continues:

“In an interview Saturday, Sharpton again denied working as a confidential informant, claiming that his prior cooperation with FBI agents was limited to efforts to prompt investigations of drug dealing in minority communities, as well as the swindling of black artists in the recording industry. He also repeatedly denied being “flipped” by federal agents in the course of an undercover operation. When asked specifically about his recording of the Gambino crime family member, Sharpton was noncommittal: “I’m not saying yes, I’m not saying no.”

Sharpton says that he was the target of threats and did seek help with them.

These days, Rev. Sharpton is the president and CEO of the National Action Network, which is having its 2014 convention this week with guests to include media members from MSNBC, President Obama, and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio. TSG notes that he’s paid $241,402 annually for his work with the nonprofit. Moreover, he hosts PoliticsNation on MSNBC.

50 Cent Loses Millions Amid Accusations Of Cheating (Details)

Val_Kilmer_and_50_Cent

Sohh reports:

Details of the under wraps case surfaced online early Tuesday (April 8).

The new court papers show 50 Cent needs to pay $11.6 million in damages for misappropriation of trade secrets, unjust enrichment and breach of confidentiality; and another $4.4 million in legal fees and expenses. In a nutshell, here’s what happened: An arbitrator in West Palm Beach found that the rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, stole design secrets from Bradenton manufacturer Sleek Audio to make his own headphones, Street by 50 and Synch by 50. (Miami Herald)

Reports also claim Fif has remained quiet about the loss despite its high-profile significance.

50 was walloped in arbitration last summer — and a federal court in Miami just affirmed the award to Sleek. The singer of Candy Shop and 21 Questions desperately tried to keep the award documents sealed, but the federal court unsealed them recently. So far, 50′s not talking, and neither are his lawyers. Through his company G-Unit LLC, Jackson and Sleek teamed up in early 2011 to market Sleek by 50, a line of wireless, over-the-ear headphones. (Miami Herald)

Reports of 50 and Sleek’s decision to part ways landed online in spring 2011.

In actuality, it was G-Unit that terminated a Brand Licensing Agreement that it had entered into with Sleek, which termination automatically triggered the termination of the earlier announced tri-party agreement. However, not long after the termination of the tri-party agreement, TV Goods and 50 Cent, via his affiliate company, SMS Audio, LLC, entered into a Term Sheet for the two parties to continue joint efforts to produce and distribute a direct response television infomercial to globally market a wireless over-the-ear headphone product offered or sold by SMS that is endorsed by and/or and bears the name of “50 Cent.” Sleek is not a party to that Term Sheet. Twitter Responds To Drake “Bandwagoning” For UConn Over UK

Vlad reports:

Drake has painted an image of himself as a major Kentucky fan, so after Rip posted the photo to his Instagram account, it was instantly over for Drake as fans took the opportunity to fire off shots at him for switching teams.

To make matters worse, a fan present at the game snapped a photo of Drake looking rather stressed as Kentucky was ultimately defeated by UConn. Many people took to Twitter to create loads of comical memes joking on Drake for switching his alliances, even though the picture of him in the UConn locker room was taken before the game. His song titles, such as “Started From The Bottom,” and “No New Friends” were used in many of the memes, and the word “bangwagon” was thrown at him numerous times as well.

Taking inspiration from spaghetti-western styled work of Italian movie soundtrack composer and singer Nico Fidenco. ‘Year In Review’ has a snippet of Fidenco on it and is, according to drummer Patrick Carney, “the first song we’ve ever used a sample on”. ‘Turn Blue’ also includes The Black Keys’ longest ever song, album opener ‘Weight Of Love’, which comes in at almost seven minutes long. “I’ve never done a guitar solo like that,” frontman Dan Auerbach said.

‘Turn Blue’ was produced by Danger Mouse alongside Auerbach and Carney and was recorded at Sunset Sound in Hollywood last summer. Auerbach reveals to NME that he and Carney left the studio just once in two weeks while recording.

Beyonce Covers Out Magazine’s ‘Power’ Issue

Beyonce will be on Out Magazine‘s annual Power issue. In the below excerpt, she speaks about how men and women are viewed differently by society.

“There is a double standard when it comes to sexuality that still persists. Men are free and women are not. That is crazy,” Beyonce told the gay and lifestyle publication. “You can be a businesswoman, a mother, an artist, and a feminist – whatever you want to be – and still be a sexual being,”
