Rayful Edmond III Granted Reduction In Prison Sentence

Free Tony Lewis. From the Washington Post, where you can read the full story:

Rayful Edmond III, the District native who prosecutors say ran the largest crack cocaine operation in the nation’s capital in the 1980s, came one step closer Tuesday to release from prison after a federal judge decided that he had served enough time in his D.C. case.

U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan reduced Edmond’s prison sentence of life without parole to 20 years on Monday, citing Edmond’s nearly two decades of cooperation with prosecutors in other drug and homicide cases in the District and other parts of the country.

Edmond, 56, has been in prison 31 years, but despite the judge’s order, he probably won’t be freed anytime soon. He also has a 30-year prison sentence pending in Pennsylvania for dealing drugs out of a federal prison there.

It was not immediately clear whether the 11 years Edmond has served in addition to his newly reduced 20-year D.C. sentence would automatically apply to the Pennsylvania case.

Two Brothers Arrested For Stabbing Prank In Silver Spring

From WJLA, where you can read the full story:

Two Montgomery County brothers face charges after they staged a “stabbing hoax” that involved fake blood and calling authorities, according to the county police department.

According to authorities, Denidson Jean, 21, and Pierre Jean, 19, both of Silver Spring, are charged with knowingly causing a false call for an ambulance, as well making a false statement to an officer with the intent to deceive and cause an investigation.

Officers with the Montgomery County Police Department went to the 12700 block of Laurie Lane on January 24 after reports of a stabbing. The caller said a man stabbed his brother in the neck after a fight.

When officers arrived, they found Denidson on the floor covered in a large amount of blood, holding a shirt to his neck. Authorities said Pierre was standing over his brother. The knife was reportedly on the kitchen counter.

“Four other residents were in the home and were in emotional distress with what had occurred,” the department said in a release.

After an officer rendered aid to Denidson for a few minutes, he sat up and started laughing. That’s when the 21-year-old “told the officer that this was a prank for social media.”

Officers later searched the home and found fake blood, as well as a digital camera inside the kitchen light for filming. The other members of the house had no idea this was a prank, officers said.

Trey Songz found himself in the middle of a physical altercation with a police officer during the KC Chiefs’ game, and fans who witnessed it say the cop was way out of line.

We’ve obtained this video from Arrowhead Stadium Sunday, which — at first — shows Trey and the officer in a struggle. Trey connects a punch with the officer’s head, and gets him in a headlock, but then the officer pins Trey to a seat.

A witness tells us the whole thing started when Trey was being heckled by some fans a few rows behind him and he asked them to chill out. We’re told the officer approached Trey, and without warning, went after him. The witness says Trey was totally caught off guard when the officer got physical, and started to defend himself.

You can hear fans throughout the video shout at the officer, telling him to get off Songz until additional officers arrived. Fans were yelling for the officer to be arrested.

Once backup got there, they were able to separate Trey and the cop … and they put Trey in handcuffs.

…as well as the lack of response from the Capitol police. As seen via CBS News, where you can read the full story:

Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser on Thursday criticized the federal Capitol Police for their response to the riots at the Capitol. “Obviously it was a failure or you would not have had police lines breached and people entering the building by breaking windows,” Bowser said.

The mayor said she believes federal law enforcement responded more forcefully to Black Lives Matter civil rights protests in the city last summer than they did to violence Wednesday inside and around the perimeter of the Capitol. She called for an investigation into that apparent disparity.

“We must also understand why the federal law enforcement response was much stronger” during the Black Lives Matter protests, Bowser said.

The source added that while Kim has done much in the past to protect and help Kanye deal with his mental health struggles, “Now this divorce is happening because Kim has grown up a lot.

“She is serious about taking the bar exam and becoming a lawyer, she is serious about her prison reform campaign. Meanwhile Kanye is talking about running for president and saying other crazy s–t, and she’s just had enough of it.”
