Kanye West Brings Out Drake During Second ‘Yeezus’ Show In Toronto

During the second show of Yeezus‘ Toronto tour stop, Kanye broke out of character to bring out hometown hero Drake, who (along with ‘Ye) performed ‘Forever’ and his street hit ‘All Me’. You can check out more below….I can’t help but wonder how Kendrick Lamar feels about inadvertently opening for his competition (a better question: have they met up and talked backstage)?

PICS: Drake Caught Making Out With Zoe Kravitz At Beyoncé’s Concert

Well well well…..looks like Drake is officially off the market (for now), as he was caught shmoozin’ with Lenny Kravitz’ daughter Zoe during Beyoncé’s concert (above). Some fan gave their account of what was going on:

[He and Zoe] were making out the whole damn show. I asked for a pic when he came up for air lol!

I was like, who he done picked up off the street. I didn’t know about the rumors of who he was dating or anything but it was like she thought someone was gonna steal him or something. I was the first person to ask for a pic, then after I talked to him and took the pic, she grabbed him and kissed him. I was like…um okay!

He also apparently flew her and her friend out to Philadelphia for his tour as well.

Story developing…

Drake Covers VIBE; Speaks On Kendrick Lamar

The cover is above, the full story is here

In addition to a pretty in-depth breakdown of his successful album Nothing Was The Same, the below question was asked regarding Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Control’ verse and it’s following response in Hip-Hop:

Rap nerds have speculated whether “The Language” is a subliminal response to Kendrick Lamar’s verse on Big Sean’s “Control.” Is it appropriate to put those two records side by side?
I don’t ever want to get into responses. It’s a commitment to go there. “The Language” is just energy. What it was inspired by, I’m sure that, and other things. It’s just me talking my shit. I never once felt the need to respond to that record. The sentiment he was putting forth is what he should have. Of course you wanna be the best. Where it became an issue is that I was rolling out an album while that verse was still bubbling, so my album rollout became about this thing. What am I supposed to say? Nah, we’ll be buddy-buddy? Mind you, I never once said he’s a bad guy [or] I don’t like him. I think he’s a fucking genius in his own right, but I also stood my ground as I should. And with that came another step, which then I have to realize I’m being baited and I’m not gonna fall. Jordan doesn’t have to play pickup to prove that he could play ball, no offense. But I’m not gonna give you the chance to shake me necessarily, ’cause I feel great. There’s no real issue. It’s tough because the people wanna see us tear each other down; I don’t wanna give them that. There’s no point. I have no ill feelings toward that guy. It’s just like, it’s there for me if I wanna fall for it. I’m just too smart for that. Hopefully it’s the last time I gotta talk about this, ’cause every time I open my mouth up about it, they take this piece and take this piece. And he’s hungry, so he’s going to do what he has to do like the BET [cypher]. But again, it’s not enough for me to go. We haven’t seen each other [since the BET cypher] but I’m sure we’ll see each other and it’ll be cool. And if it’s not, then I guess that’s how our story unfolds.

Drake Hit With Lawsuit For Allegedly Bailing On 2 Concerts

Pepsi Presents Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday Tour: NYC

From TMZ:

Drake is a little too full of himself … bailing on 2 concerts to which he committed before blowing up, and agreeing to perform only if he was paid a fame premium — this according to a new lawsuit.

Several Chicago concert promoters claim Drake agreed to do the shows in 2012, just before he became very rich and very famous. According to the suit, the now-famous Drake said he would take the stage ONLY if the promoters would up the ante.

The show was set for March, 2012 at a venue that held 8,500 people. Drake performed 3 months later at a nearby venue that seated 28,000.

The promoters say they invested more than $200K and they want their dough.

Drake – We’ll Be Fine (Video…Sort Of)

Let me try to make some sense of this: at the beginning of the year, we saw a trailer for the above Take Care-era clip, which is directed by Frenchman Mikael Colombu. Then, Universal reportedly had the video taken down. Now, we have the video (thanks to the director), but the audio has been replaced by classical music (Verdi’s ‘Don Carlo’ to be exact)….

I can only assume that Universal (and maybe Drake) hated the video and cancelled the move, only to have the director put out the visual sans-single anyway.
