In between fights with other R&B singers, Frank Ocean finds time to shoot videos….here, we get a few pics of his videoshoot for the single ‘Forrest Gump’, which we hope to see soon.
Frank Ocean Intends To Press Charges Against Chris Brown Over Scuffle
Look like Chris Brown might get hit for violating parole, because according to the New York Post, Frank Ocean wants to press charges against his attacker:
R&B singer Frank Ocean intends to press charges against bully boy Chris Brown for punching him and starting an all-out brawl outside Westlake Studios in West Hollywood on Sunday night.
Police want to talk to Brown, who is still on probation for beating up Rihanna on the eve of the 2009 Grammy Awards.
Ocean, who publically came out in July as a bisexual, is “desirous of prosecution,” L.A. Sheriff’s Office spokesman Steve Whitmore told The Post. “We’ll find out what happened.”
The fight over a parking space reportedly involved six men. Ocean tweeted: “got jumped by chris and a couple guys. Lol. I only wish everest was there.” Everest is his dog.
He later added: “cut my finger now I can’t play w two hands at the grammys.”
Nas Speaks On Wanting To Work With Frank Ocean (Again)

Music News
From MTV:
God’s Son is so pumped about last year’s work that he’s ready to get back into the studio to record its follow-up, and if he has his way, he’ll time include Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Frank Ocean this time around.
“I would love to reconnect with Frank Ocean,” Nas told MTV News last week when he was in New York celebrating his brand-new partnership with Hennessy’s Wild Rabbit campaign.
The two tried to knock out a collaboration for Life Is Good, but after the song’s producer, Hit-Boy, lost the digital files, the song was gone. Ocean revealed to The New York Times that the track was titled “No Such Thing as White Jesus” last year. When we asked Nas about it a few weeks later, he wouldn’t confirm. “I’ve talked about a song with Frank Ocean about a year and a half before anybody worked with him, and since then, it’s been a heavily anticipated record, but I didn’t talk about which song, actually,” he said in July.

UPDATE: Frank Ocean (@Frank_Ocean) Arrested For Sexual Act In A Moving Vehicle
UPDATE: So it looks like weed — and not sex — was the culprit…from TMZ:
Law enforcement tells TMZ, Ocean was pulled over in Mono County, CA for going roughly 90 in a 65 — and when officers approached his black BMW, they smelled the odor of marijuana emanating from his vehicle.
According to law enforcement, cops searched Ocean and found a small bag of pot on his person.
We’re told Ocean was cited for marijuana possession, driving on a suspended license, and tinted windows.
Ocean was released on the spot, but his passenger had to drive him home — because cops confiscated Ocean’s license.
This is from Media Takeout, so take this with a grain of salt:
Frank Ocean and his male companion was allegedly caught performing sexual acts to one another Mister Cee-style when a Lakewood California officer pulled them over. He also posted a picture from the back of a cop car alongside a Tweet (which we don’t see, so it may have been removed) saying ‘worst trip ever’:

@BarackObama, @Frank_Ocean & More ‘LGBT Heroes Of 2012’
From the Examiner:
Today, CNN called Barack Obama and Frank Ocean the LGBT heroes of 2012. We would also add Madonna to the list for standing up for the gay community in Russia, even though she was threatened with physical and even financial damage.
Overall, it was a year when civil rights for gays and lesbians took on many new strides. With gay marriage being legalized everywhere and even our own president changing his position on gay rights, 2012 will be a year to remember. Let’s take a look at the three most important figures in LGBT rights this year.

Frank Ocean (@Frank_Ocean) GQ Feature
Frank Ocean was included in GQ‘s “Men Of The Year”. They covered his rise to fame, his letter and sexuality. Full artice right here.
GQ: Is it true that you wrote the songs for Channel Orange in three weeks?
Frank Ocean: Yeah, then I worked on them for nine months—a typical gestation period.GQ: You’re something of a perfectionist, I gather.
Frank Ocean: John Mayer and I were talking in rehearsal before SNL, and he was like, “You love to take the hardest way. You don’t always have to.” But I don’t know about that. It’s like Billy Joel says in that song “Vienna.” When the truth is told / That you can get what you want or you can just get old. We all know we have a finite period of time. I just feel if I’m going to be alive, I want to be challenged—to be as immortal as possible. The path to that isn’t an easy way, but it’s a rewarding way.
GQ: So do you consider yourself bisexual?
Frank Ocean: You can move to the next question. I’ll respectfully say that life is dynamic and comes along with dynamic experiences, and the same sentiment that I have towards genres of music, I have towards a lot of labels and boxes and shit. I’m in this business to be creative—I’ll even diminish it and say to be a content provider. One of the pieces of content that I’m for fuck sure not giving is porn videos. I’m not a centerfold. I’m not trying to sell you sex. People should pay attention to that in the letter: I didn’t need to label it for it to have impact. Because people realize everything that I say is so relatable, because when you’re talking about romantic love, both sides in all scenarios feel the same shit. As a writer, as a creator, I’m giving you my experiences. But just take what I give you. You ain’t got to pry beyond that. I’m giving you what I feel like you can feel. The other shit, you can’t feel. You can’t feel a box. You can’t feel a label. Don’t get caught up in that shit. There’s so much something in life. Don’t get caught up in the nothing. That shit is nothing, you know? It’s nothing. Vanish the fear.
@Hit_Boy Recovers Thought-To-Be-Lost @Nas & @Frank_Ocean Recordings
Remember that highly-publicized song with Nas & Frank Ocean that Hit-Boy made? I honestly can’t but the track was called ‘No Such Thing As White Jesus’ and was thought to be lost forever to to the misplacing of hardware….well it appears what was lost is now found:

Frank Ocean (@Frank_Ocean) Speaks On Coming Out
Frank Ocean came out about his sexuality a few weeks before his debut album hit the stores In the latest issue of the Guardian,  He spoke on the  letter  which was written  last year and was supposed to be the liner notes of his album. Below he touches on the subject, the timing and why he forbids to change his lyrics.
“A lot of people have said that since that news came out. I suppose a percentage of that act was because of altruism; because I was thinking of how I wished at 13 or 14 there was somebody I looked up to who would have said something like that, who would have been transparent in that way. But there’s another side of it that’s just about my own sanity and my ability to feel like I’m living a life where I’m not just successful on paper, but sure that I’m happy when I wake up in the morning, and not with this freakin’ boulder on my chest.
I knew that I was writing in a way that people would ask questions. I knew that my star was rising, and I knew that if I waited I would always have somebody that I respected be able to encourage me to wait longer, to not say it till who knows when. It was important for me to know that when I go out on the road and I do these things, that I’m looking at people who are applauding because of an appreciation for me. I don’t have many secrets, so if you know that, and you’re still applauding … it may be some sort of sick validation but it was important to me. When I heard people talking about certain, you know, ‘pronouns’ in the writing of the record, I just wanted to – like I said on the post – offer some clarity; clarify, before the fire got too wild and the conversation became too unfocused and murky.
When you write a song like Forrest Gump, the subject can’t be androgynous. It requires an unnecessary amount of effort. I don’t fear anybody. So, to answer your question, yes, I could have easily changed the words. But for what? I just feel like it’s just another time now. I have no interest in contributing to that, especially with my art. It’s the one thing that I know will outlive me and outlive my feelings. It will outlive my depressive seasons.â€
