Kanye West Shows Up At A (Seemingly) Random Open Mic In New Jersey

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

At first, it looks like Kanye West just decided to stroll into a Mexican restaurant in Jersey City for their Wolf Juice open mic series, just because…it turns out that one of the event’s participants, 17-year-old Jahmila Sandifer (also known as Jay Hype), is a family friend and was their to perform her track ‘K.O.W.‘ (which stand for Kanye’s full name). That’s pretty cool.

You can check out pics from that above.

Plenty of celebs were in attendance at The Weeknd’s recent show in Los Angeles….what’s notable here (to us) is Wale hanging out with Kanye West…we hope that a collab might come out of this!

Check out more pics with (in addition to Wale and Kanye) Diddy, French Montana, Kendall Jenner, Kat Williams (!) and more.

Sidebar: Kendall hanging out with French? Could the New York emcee be back on good terms with Khloe Kardashian (or, perhaps Jenner was with her in-law Kanye)?

Kanye West Stops Show Because Fan Won’t Stand Up — Because They Were In A Wheelchair

Hey, mistakes happen. This is definitely one of Kanye’s. From TMZ:

If you thought Kanye West refusing to perform until a wheelchair-bound concertgoer stood up sounded like an awkward scene … wait till you watch the cringeworthy video.

As we previously reported … the whole thing went down at the Qantas Credit Union Arena in Sydney, Australia Friday night — and shortly after he stopped rapping, the crowd started booing the person in a wheelchair.

Kanye clearly meant well … but it’s hard to watch the video without feeling bad for Yeezy’s fan.

Kanye West – All Day (Snippet)

So after a short clip of an alleged new Kanye song leaked recently, someone uploaded a recording of part of the song (which he also mentioned in a GQ interview) playing live for two minutes. Surely someone at Def Jam is getting fired. Look for a screen cap of producer Mike Dean’s comment below the snippet.

UPDATE: We removed the stream (which was already removed on it’s own, anyway). Hopefully the official release will drop, soon. Continue to enjoy Mike Dean’s wrath below.

Mike Meyers Speaks On Kanye’s Bush Comment

mike-kanye

It’s has been nine years since Kanye West spoke against the former President George Bush while standing next actor Mike Meyers . In an interview  with GQ, Mike Meyers says he supported Kanye’s views and was happy that he spoke up. Read except from the interview below:

I don’t do many things. And I remember watching the television and seeing, because I’m a citizen now, my fellow citizens on the roofs of buildings dying. And I turned into my father, where my dad would shout at the TV. My dad hated injustice. I’ve been called for many, many telethons, hither and yon, and I remember just being so upset and feeling, ironically, that if this was white people on roofs, the army would be there in five seconds. And these are my fellow citizens, who just happen to be people of color, sitting on roofs for multiple days.

So when they called me I said, “Yeah, I’ll do it.” I went there specifically because I wanted to help the Red Cross. I was supposed to be by myself, and I was, like, “fine”, then they said “Do you mind doing it with somebody else?” And I always remembered that Live Aid thing of “leave your egos at the door”, so I said, “Sure, of course.” And they said, “Would you do it with Kanye West?” and I said, “Uh, sure.” I actually wasn’t familiar with his work. And then he said he was going to take some liberties with the thing.

I’m, like, super proud to have been next to him. The look on my face is…to be honest with you, I thought I handled it well. I was like “This is what’s happening…” Because live TV is my milieu, and improv is my training, you know. It has been painful that the culture has at times meditated on my surprise, when it’s really the message, dude. The message, the message, the message, you know. There’s a world of fail culture, and it’s hardly a fail on my part to be next to the guy that spoke truth to power at a time when horrific injustices… [he trails off, point made]
