This was nice! …and an extremely nice video. …First time I’ve heard of After The Smoke.
This song (“Wallstreet”) has like a Roots slash Tribe Called Quest feel. But the rap duo’s music in general kinda blends in a lot. …Likes there’s a lot of distorted spacing out like in Kid Cudi‘s music, as well as a few Andre 3000/Outkast-like hooks that go pretty hard.. Overall some pretty dope music that stands out and begs to be listened to.

In a Q&A with Music Connection, Kid Cudi speaks on how he learned from working with Kanye & JAY Z:
Kanye and Jay Z: people who stay true to their art, people who stay true to themselves, you know, do things their own way. Like Michael Jackson, you’ll never see another Jay Z and you’ll never see another Kanye, and the reason why is because they are who they are. They’re not emulating anyone. And it’s not that they told me; I was just paying attention. I think that’s why they have me around, because they know I’m watching and I’m learning.
He also says upcoming MOTM III (which will be preceded by a new EP) and what fans can expect:
MOTM 3 will show a whole other level of maturity, and it will answer a whole lot of questions. There’s a lot of missing links between MOTM and MOTM II. I also think that they were both very ignorant albums, so I think I’ll eliminate a lot of that ignorance. will really be answering the biggest question: Have I found happiness? And it will lead people on in life, because there will not be another MOTM after MOTM 3. It will send people off feeling satisfied.

Adding in the Roots and subtracting Nas, the current and former G.O.O.D. Music artist reunite on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to perform their collaboration — ‘First Chain’ — from Big Sean’s latest, Hall Of Fame.
In the middle of a rousing rendition of ‘Cudi Zone’, a fan apparently saw it fit to try to perform with the artist while he was rocking the stage in Houston…..not on his watch.
Last night, KiD CuDi performed in Dallas last night while on the Cudi Life tour. During the show, he announced that he will be releasing a new “Prelude” EP within the next 3 months before his next album Man On The Moon 3 hits stores.
He said that he is only giving a 24 hour notice about the release date. The EP will also be produced by Kid Cudi and Dot Da Genius.

Definitely the right formula that made the original Man On The Moon a future classic. I definitely can’t wait for the 3rd in the series now….especially since, Pat & Emile hopefully won’t let Cudi produce the whole thing a la Indicud. I’m not saying that it was necessarily bad; I definitely want to hear his steadily progressive production on the project as well.
