TMZ reports:

Lil Boosie is carrying serious baggage after rotting in the slammer for 5 years.

Boosie — who was just released after serving his sentence on drug charges — took his kids to The Esplanade Mall in Kenner, Louisiana Thursday where he dropped wads of cash on new clothes.

Sources tell TMZ, Boosie spent most of his time in the Polo section at Macy’s and also bought some new kicks at Footaction USA. He also stopped at some store called Nouveau, hence the bags.

Lil Boosie Released From Prison

From The Times-Picayune:

Torrence Hatch, aka rapper Lil Boosie, was released from prison Wednesday night, according to a representative from the Louisiana Department of Corrections. His release comes on the heels of an Atlantic Records spokesperson verifying Hatch would appear at a press conference March 10.

DOC spokesperson Pam LaBorde confirmed Hatch left the prison, commonly known as Angola, at about 7:10 p.m. on March 5.

Hatch was sent to a West Feliciana Sheriff’s Department facility to meet his lawyer and at least one other person, LaBorde said.

Hatch will remain under parole and probation for some time, LaBorde said, although she did not have the dates available. Terms of that supervision will be verified during a parole intake within 48 hours and at a probationary hearing in front of a judge, she continued.

Hatch’s parole and probation restrictions could include a stipulation that he be required to ask permission to leave the state, or that he not be allowed to leave Louisiana at all, but LaBorde said it was simply too early to tell the specifics of those restrictions.

Media entities were sent invitations this week to a press conference offering interviews with the Baton Rouge rapper who is currently incarcerated on drug charges at the Louisiana State Penitentiary. The conference invitation had logos for both Atlantic Records and Trill Entertainment.

“He will absolutely be there,” said a representative with Atlantic Records. “He’ll be speaking to the press for the first time … after his release.”

Rumors surrounding Hatch and his release date have circulated since he entered Angola, so his actual exit from the prison should put to rest some of the massive speculation that has occurred on rap and hip hop blogs, websites, magazines and other news sources.

Taquari Hatch, Lil Boosie’s brother and manager, did not immediately return requests for comment.

Hatch first entered the prison system in 2009 when he pleaded guilty to a third-offense marijuana possession charge, earning him a total of four years when the judge determined Hatch had also violated probation. In 2011, Hatch pleaded guilty to attempting to smuggle drugs into prison, which added eight years to his sentence.

In May 2012, Hatch avoided more time when a jury acquitted him in the 2009 murder of Terry Boyd. Michael “Marlo Mike” Louding was sentenced to life without parole July 9 for the Boyd slaying.

Rumors: Lil Boosie Facing Another Murder Charge?

AHH Reports:

I got a bombshell of a rumor. Remember last month, I told you how Boosie was on his way home soon. And then I got rumors that said he’d be home sometime in the summer. Well, I have some new insider info on how they are moving on Boosie. First of all, people thought the boy Boosie was in the clear because he was acquitted of murder in one case. But, I am hearing there are two others on deck that they have not charged him for yet. But, they have witnesses and prosecutors on deck to bring Boosie right back into the legal gumbo he’s found himself in. From what I heard, they are simply going to charge Boosie with one charge at a time. This one still has him in jail. Soon as he is about to get out on his one, that he was acquitted for, boom! Another one. They get that guap from him and really stick it to him every step of the way in every way. One of the witnesses has turned his life over to God and says that God told him to tell the truth in these cases. That includes telling on Boosie.

Lil’ Boosie has been progressing while incarcerated, having earned his GED in Angola State Prison. He is currently in with an 8-year sentence for drug smuggling (I think….I forget, but that’s fairly irrelevant for the point of this post). Congrats to Mr. Bad Azz on his achievement.

Lil Boosie Scheduled to Be Released From Prison in Less Than 60 Days

Report From HipHopenquirer

After beating a 1st. degree murder case and then pleading guilty to smuggling drugs into a prison sources close to his camp have confirmed that Torrence Hatch better known as Lil Boosie, a chart topping Baton Rouge recording artist will in fact be released from prison in less than 60 days because as they classified it, he was setup on the drug charge. His legal team immediately jumped into high gear once he accepted the plea after realizing that his plea was made under duress.

Investigators said he tried to smuggle drugs into Dixon Correctional Center once and into Angola State Penitentiary twice. However according to the source, the rapper admitted earlier that he had a substance abuse problem and that a police informant offered to provide him with “syrup” and of course if you offer a drug addict drugs he’s going to accept it, especially in a controlled environment like prison.”

He is expected to walk out of prison in mid-February of 2013.
