Wale Punches A Heckler In The Face At WWE Event In DC

UPDATE: Miss Info is reporting that the fight started when the fan trolled Wale via twitter. You can scroll through the tweets above.

TMZ reports:

Rap star Wale PUNCHED A GUY IN THE FACE at a WWE event Monday night — and judging by the way security rushed in to break it up, it appeared to be 100% REAL.

It all went down at “Raw” in Washington D.C. — TMZ spoke with eyewitness Jawn Murray from AlwaysAlist.com who says Wale was sitting right behind the announcers enjoying the show … when some fan seated nearby began taunting the rapper.

Murray says Wale eventually got up out of his seat and “the next thing I know Wale is putting the smackdown on dude. Punched him dead in his face. It was a full fight.”

Security rushed over and broke up the fight — and took everyone involved into a hallway. Moments later, Wale returned to his seat and began snacking on popcorn like nothing happened.

We’re told the other guy is also back in his seat.

TRAILER: Common, Wale, Snow Tha Product & More – Catch The Throne (Mixtape)

Haven’t been watching the Throne lately? Luckily, HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones is helping viewers (both newbs and vets) catch up on seasons past with the Catch The Throne mixtape. Based off the novels penned by George R. R. Martin, the show gives fantasy drama its swag back, with the help of dragons, the smoking hot “Mother of Dragons” Khaleesi, inter-family scandal and sword-clashing across Seven Kingdoms.

Now, for season 4, HBO is adding hip-hop to the mix. Catch The Throne will carry new tracks from self-proclaimed GoT fans Common, Wale, Big Boi and Daddy Yankee, while also giving rising rappers, like Bodega Bamz and Snow Tha Product, shine. Each artist hopped in the booth and spit fire (pun intended) about the show’s characters and prevalent theme of power struggle.

“Game of Thrones centers around battles for power and rap is definitely a battle for power,” Comm says.

While the goal of the project was to attract more eyeballs for the new season, it was also intended to reach various audiences.

“Helping people catch up was the genesis of the idea,” Lucinda Martinez, the SVP of Multicultural Marketing at HBO told VIBE. “We know that hip-hop impacts all audiences and realized there were a lot of artists who were fans of the show. We thought this could be a great opportunity to have them sing or rap or whatever their artistic interpretation of the show was to help us create stunts that we could share through music.”

Expect Catch The Throne to drop on Soundcloud this month right before the show kicks off season 4 on April 6 on HBO. GoT Stans can also unite at the New York’s Barclays Center to catch a special screening on March 20. — Adelle Platon

Wale Is Not Quitting Rap Music Over Retweets

Spotted on Funk Flex:

story is making its rounds on social media and blogs today, showing what appears to be a DM from Wale to a fan, agreeing to quit making music if the fan secured 10k RT’s. The interaction seemed a bit funny, as Wale would have to have been following the random fan to even exchange DM’s, as well as the fact that Wale allegedly wrote, “b*tches love me”…which doesn’t sound very Wale’ish at all.

After we shared the story, the MMG rapper himself reached out to Funk Flex, and confirmed that the alleged DM is a Photoshopped image, and he will not be quitting rap any time soon. Even if the DM was real, it would be silly for someone as successful as Wale to quit rap! So, there you have it – this rumor is FALSE and we can expect more music from the D.C. native for quite some time to come!

Wale Confirms That His ‘Album About Nothing’ Is Dropping This Year

Wale recently took to Twitter to announce that his next album — which will stand as the third installment of his highly-praised Nothing series — will arrive sometime this Fall. More recently, he answered a few fans questions regarding the album, which is (if you’ve been living under a rock) based off of Jerry Seinfeld’s television show.

Check out the Tweets above….if you have no idea what we’ve been talking about, you can check out the links below.

Twitter, Social Networks Go In On Wale Following Celebrity Basketball Game

I didn’t even watch the game, but apparently, Wale did poorly enough to have the internet make a big joke out of it. The thing is, we have always known the D.C. artist as an athlete….so seeing the above tweets (and the below Vine clip) is admittedly odd.

Nonetheless, he’s not the only emcee now known for his (lack of) sports ability….JAY Z himself became an internet meme for being a horrible swimmer.

PICS: 2014 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game

Snoop Lion/Dogg, Wale, Kevin Hart, Skylar Diggins, Romeo Miller, Jesse Williams (Grey’s Anatomy), Terrance J and more were present for this year’s celebrity basketball game during NBA All-Star Weekend, which went down at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

You can check out some pics from the game above; the West Celebrities lost to the East Celebrities, 60-56. Kevin Hart was again the MVP (although he gave his award to U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan).

There Is A Seinfeld Reunion In The Works

We here at JUKEBOX:DOPECONTENT admittedly hope that Wale will be making an appearance in this reunion, somehow (or, the secret project that Seinfeld is referring to could in fact be Wale’s Album About Nothing…a bit of a reach, but still). From NY Daily News:

The best sitcom about, well, nothing, is set to reappear on the small screen “very, very soon.”

“Seinfeld” fans can rejoice as the rumors that recently surfaced about a possible reunion are true. However, there’s no telling in what capacity it will take place.

“It’s a secret project,” Jerry Seinfeld said during an interview on the “Boomer & Carton” radio show Thursday.

Speculations sprang up after Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, who played George Castanza, and the show’s creator, Larry David, were spotted at Tom’s Restaurant in New York City. The diner was the setting for the coffee shop that the cast frequented on the hit series.

While Seinfeld admitted that a project had either taken place or was in progress, the 59-year-old comedian didn’t detail much else except that it was most certainly not a Super Bowl commercial.

The radio hosts proceeded to play a sort of “21 Questions” game in order to divulge more information.

What they gathered from Seinfeld was that the “secret project,” which would be seen “very, very soon,” involved other characters from the original sitcom including, of course, Alexander playing the part of George.

“Of course he remembers playing that character for 9 years,” Seinfeld responded when asked if Alexander was surprised to receive a call about the new project.

The “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” star also indicated that while David was involved with the project, which is longer than 60 seconds and was filmed in other locations outside the coffee shop, he is not on camera.

So while the excitement among “Seinfeld” fans increases, they shouldn’t be too quick to celebrate, as this is a “one and done” type of deal, according to the actor.

In order to get away from the reunion “interrogation,” Seinfeld asked the hosts of the sports radio show, “So what about football?”

@Wale Addresses Social Media Absence In Letter To Fans

wale

I’m not sure what Every Blue Moon is yet, but in addition to his remix of Lorde’s ‘Royals’ being released via the brand’s Tumblr page, Wale has also written an extensive letter that addresses his absence from social media, and how he plans to evolve in 2014 (and beyond). You can check out said letter in it’s entirety below.

Where have I been?

Man, I been everywhere. Everyday trying to get a better understanding of myself and this crazy game I have given my life to.

What I’ve come to grips with is the fact that I am not superhuman, BUT super human. I think our culture has made it almost a prerequisite to be “too cool” or “swagged out” carrying a “nothing can phase me” image. It’s to the point that the ones who show they care, get attacked the most. Who ever thought we’d see a day when somebody used the word “poetic” as an insult? I certainly never thought that. “I can’t fuck wit Wale ‘ol poetic ass.” Really? These are the same people who probably have every Pac album embedded in their head. But, I digress. I took an absence from Twitter because I started to care tooooo much. I still don’t know the root of what makes me care THAT much, but I’m quite sure it started by wanting to lead people in a direction that wasn’t as cliché as some of my peers.

I’m no saint. I fuck with ratchet bitches. I say bitch. I bitch about things my damn self. But, I can honestly say, that I try to use my “human” traits as a means of relating to other humans. If I can bare my insecurities and flaws before you, maybe you won’t feel so insecure and flawed.

There came a point where people went out of their way to remind me that I’m missin my mark. Albeit, I made myself a target to slander and criticism. I think it became a trend to fuck with anybody that cared about people’s opinion. I’m not one of those people who make music for material things. I strive to make music for a public that appreciates raw emotion. And I will continue to.

I went through stages of frustration in my career with publications because of my own selfishness and sense of entitlement. I admit that. Nevertheless, I think if we calling a spade a spade, some media outlets be on they bullshit with me for reasons outside of music. But, my goal moving forward is to focus less on THEM and more on US. We all have goals and mine is simple. Empower the people. Empower MY fans and focus on MY fans and their energy . I don’t think it’s humanly possible for me to appease some of these outlets no matter what I create. It burns my soul to hear there’s no message tho. So knowin that I may have fell short of connecting with some of them, I’ve decided to use my energy on US. The guy with all the mixtapes. The guy who listens to every song twice because they know there’s things hidden in there. The girl who can’t wait to hear “Ambitious Girl 3” (Oh, it’s coming). The girl with the “Ambition” tattoo, who gets dressed to “Illest Bitch Alive” every morning . The ones who understood my frustration, hated my rant but understood it nevertheless . I may never be the biggest rapper in the world (still one of the best doe) but, I’ll be the most dedicated to my fans and it starts with this right here. This is rare. This is REAL. This is about us. This is about the music again. My ReRE -Dedication to greatness. What we got doesn’t happen often, nor with too many people. This is an rare occasion when a rare bond… Happens
