TMZ reports:

The guy behind the smash hit “Adorn” and “#Beautiful” with Mariah Carey — was arrested for driving drunk in L.A. early this morning … TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us … California Highway Patrol officers initially flagged the 27-year-old singer’s 2013 BMW X6 for speeding and tinted windows next to an L.A. freeway around 2:15 AM.

During the stop, officers noticed the singer reeked of booze … and performed various field sobriety tests, which he bombed.

Miguel — full name Miguel Jontel Pimentel — also took a breathalyzer and blew a .10 and .11 … which is over the .08 legal limit in CA.

Miguel was then arrested for DUI and hauled to a nearby station where he was booked … and released a few hours later on $5,000 bail.

According to his booking sheet, Miguel is 5’7″ and 140 pounds.

He’s scheduled to appear in court in September.

So far, no word from Miguel’s camp.

“Name In Lights” – Little Daylight

“Name In Lights” – Little Daylight

This is the 2nd really nice pop song I’ve liked from NY’s Little Daylight. The first being “Overdose”. This one is a little less radio friendly, ie more my style, and is the clear favorite of the 2. Just heard it the other day and was quite impressed. Wish there was an actual video for it though… But until then, this lyric video will have to suffice. Enjoy…

BONUS: Here’s their other song “Overdose”. Probably the wiser choice to release as their first single, as it IS super poppy and catchy. Good song honestly. One of the few pop songs I can tolerate.

ARtiST hIghLIGHT …Tidus

“These are not my dreads, they are some f*ckin antennas”

Tidus is an unique cat out of NY that I’m actually pretty surprised hasn’t blown up more than he has. I’ve been diggin his music for a while now. Since november to be exact.

First it was “Delancy”, that one kinda got me on first listen. The song itself is super cool and not hard to like in the slightest. I play it a lot when I do my Vjay runs on weekends and it grabs everyone’s attention as soon as the beat comes on.

Then the late night New York visuals are dope too. He actually impromptu recorded it during a Manhattan blackout during hurricane Sandy. It was a smart move though because it created a perfect, super cool, freaky type vibe that comes through strong in the video. Perfectly matches the whole slightly weird, “out there” demeanor Tidus tries to capture with his music.

After that I did my usual digging and pulled up a few gems from off his early 2012 [Mirrors] EP as well as his earlier 2011 [Doors] EP . All go along with his out there / spaced out, in a different galaxy theme. Not to be confused with lil’ Waynes “I am a Martian” attempts. Tidus actually pulls it off. Plus, Tidus’ sound and videos are more abstract, which better match his image. Take “Gone Face” or “Cruisin” for instance. Both are somewhat trippy, definitely unique, and do a good job of taking you “down the rabbit hole” which is Tidus‘ mind. Good stuff forreal. Gotta always give props who those who go outside of the norm and do something different. Especially when it works.

Anyways, with all that being said, I think dude is pretty dope. I mean he’s not the next Nas or Jay-Z, but he has his own lane and a forumla that I think is true to him. It works more times than not. And although he doesn’t have but so much material out now, I’m in high anticipation for something new. So ill keep looking and keep you guys posted. Let me know what you guys think though. Posted a few more of his highlights as well has both his EP’s below (which you can download for free). Enjoy…

@TreMission – Brunch/High Fashion (Video)

Courtesy of FACT Magazine:

Big Dada are pleased to announce the signing of Tre Mission on a three album deal. The twenty two year old MC and producer from Toronto found a common Caribbean heritage in the rhythms and slang of grime and quickly developed links with the UK scene, forming strong bonds with Wiley and JME, amongst others, and appearing on “Lord Of The Mics 3.” Earlier this summer he released the mixtape (or as he prefers, “free album”) “Malmaison” which showcases his skills both as a producer and a lyricist, and which has already spawned a series of high quality videos from his team as well as racking up an impressive amount of downloads. He was recently decribed by the Independent as “one of grime’s hottest talents.”

“To celebrate the signing of his deal with the label, Big Dada are working the double-AA single “Brunch / High Fashion,” featuring two tracks from Malmaison. A further video for the tracks is forthcoming and the tunes have already had plays from Tim Westwood, Logan Sama and Mister Jam. A full debut album will follow in early 2014.”

Mac Miller – Hard Knock TV Interview (Part 4, Episode 3)

In the third and final installment of our interview, Mac talks to Nick Huff Barili about how he feels that Schoolboy Q’s up coming album is better than any TDE releases to date, including Kendrick Lamar’s GKMC. Mac back pedals on the statement a bit saying that he wants to support his homie Q and that he made the statement to help raise awareness for Schoolboy Q’s new album. Whether he really believes its better than Kendricks….we will let you come up with your own conclusions. Mac also talks about the current tour he is on and how he picked everyone involved, saying that its his favorite tour so far. Up next for Mac is an up coming tour in Europe with Lil Wayne and 2 Chains. Mac says he doesn’t know if the crowd will even recognize him but that it will be fun regardless. Mac talks about getting dap from Wayne at the MTV awards which he said felt authentic. Nick asks Mac about his project with Jazzy Jeff called 92 Til infinity, which Mac says is still in the works. The interview ends with Mac talking about how this generation needs to be better at revolution and references a documentary he saw about US Propaganda made by the North Koreans. (Ps that is Earl Sweatshirt’s voice in the background calling him a communist.)
