A strange, untitled demo attributed to Rihanna has appeared online, featuring Kanye’s misogynistic, threatening yelling over a simple, tom and clap beat. I really don’t know.

Lamb$ and Glizzy have been linking up in the Midwest for a while but we rarely get to hear the fruits of their labor. Hear how the two of them make people “Wonder” over a Tuger beat.

Young Thug takes to Instagram to issue a cordial response to Wayne’s words about him and his album cover.
Kap G recruits TIP and David Banner for the remix to his protest track. The Fader premiered it, adding thoughts from all three artists. I’m not sure how well TI fit on this, but he had a solid verse. Banner’s quote was my favorite; “From the beginning, the relationship between police departments and communities of color has been a tumultuous one. For too long, some officers have abused their authority and have not upheld their commitment to protect and serve all members of the community.”
Styme and Young Motive Live the life over a Mustard-esque DJDreamState beat.
Sheed Lucci goes hard on “Back 2 Work” produced by Zaytoven, channeling Gucci. This is a big move for the Virginia rapper, TowneBaby2 on the way…
While on tour with Logic, rapper Michael Christmas links up with VMG’s 6ix for “ADHD.” Christmas has been one of our favorite newer faces from Boston and 6ix has been killing it with the beats lately. See Logic’s album and Lambo Anlo’s mixtape.

Maco premieres a new record with his QC cohort Cinco. Where is your facecard?
When is the last time you heard some Sugar Tongue Slim? When is the last time you heard some RJD2, for that matter? The two have come together to form a producer/rapper duo and have a project, creatively title STS x RJD2 coming out next month. “Hold On, Here It Go” is the first single. RJ told Rolling Stone that the track, featuring the Bohemian Dub Orchestra, gave him goosebumps. You can pre-order the whole project here.
From Chicken Ranch Records here’s “Trying” by Bully. Hailing from Nashville, Bully’s created a relaxed but urgent feel here, like a cross between the Breeders and Hole maybe? Either way it’s a rocker which should get your feet stomping.
Purpdogg leaks a new Currensy record that just missed getting on Pilot Talk III. Currensy reminisces about the street life over a sax line and some 808s.
Rick Ross takes off to Geneva for the cinematic “Phone Tap” video. Rozay also leaks a record with Lex Luger that wasn’t on the Hood Billionaire album. “Dog Food” sounds like it was made back during Lex’s 2011 takeover. Say what you want about the MMG head but he consistently puts out the music his audience wants, and they play it all the time. Ross is up there with Gucci and Juicy J for most frequently heard blasting out of cars in the hood.
A lovely dreamy and kind of jammy track by Yast of Adrian Recordings in Sweden. “When You’re Around” is reminsicent of The Cure and early 90s dream pop (ie Dinosaur Jr and Jesus and Mary Chain?). It’s a great track that will make your head swoon.
A heavier track from Speedy Ortiz from the local Carpark Records. “Puffer” follows the excellent “Raising the Skate,” in anticipation of Speedy Ortiz’ album Deerfoil. The track starts off with a thumping bass and churning guitars that rise into a dark chorus full of expectation and lusty vocals. If it all sounds too harsh, it’s catchy nonetheless.
DC’s own Kingpen Slim prepares for a new mixtape release with a video for his “Grindin” freestyle, shot by Jay Gregory. Enjoy the visuals
