I don’t really know if this is going to be the official artwork (sans release date information), but it’s definitely an upgrade from what we first saw (which wasn’t bad, either).
Mary J. Blige Reveals Christmas Album
A Mary Christmas? Alright……I’m surprised to find that this is her first holiday effort, but for whatever reason it’s dropping in October (perhaps in an attempt to attack those tax issues).

Chris Brown Pleads Not Guilty To Hit & Run
From TMZ:
Chris Brown just pled not guilty to the charge of hit-and-run, stemming from that minor car accident — which led to his probation getting revoked — TMZ has learned.
Since he wasn’t arrested on the day of the accident, Chris now has to go to a police station to get booked for the crime … which means he’ll have to take another mug shot. He has until August 6th to take care of that.
Chris’ next court date in the hit-and-run case is August 15.
As for his possible probation violation in the Rihanna beating case — the singer has to appear in court for a separate probation violation hearing in August.
As we reported, the judge revoked Chris’ probation in the wake of the hit-and-run charge … but he’s currently free on his own recognizance.
The remaining charges from the car accident — driving without a valid license and proof of insurance — were dismissed.
Amanda Bynes Placed On Psychiatric Hold After Setting Fire In Stranger’s Driveway
Taken from MTV, where you can read the full story:
Actress Amanda Bynes was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold by California sheriff’s deputies on Monday night after she set a small fire in a stranger’s driveway.
According to Captain Don Aguilar of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, Bynes was “involved in a disturbance in a residential neighborhood last night in Thousand Oaks.” Fire officials responded shortly before 9 p.m. to a report of a gas can on fire in a driveway and after investigating the incident and speaking to Bynes, 27, they determined that she met the criteria for a 5150 psychiatric hold. The homeowners have said that they had no ties to the troubled former child star.
A 5150 order places an individual under a 72-hour involuntary psychiatric hold, during which they are given a mental health evaluation. The order under the section of the California Welfare & Institutions Code allows for the involuntary hold when someone “make[s] statements that they’re either a danger to themselves or others, or gravely disabled.”
The same provision was used in 2008 on Britney Spears when the singer’s erratic behavior sparked concern from family and officials. Aguilar said no medical aid was rendered at the scene and at this time no criminal charges have been made against Bynes.

Russell Simmons, Steve Rifkind & Brian Robbins Launch All Def Music Label
From Billboard:
Def Jam co-founder, music mogul and social activist Russell Simmons, alongside film director/producer Brian Robbins (founder and president of Varsity Pictures, director of “Hardball,” “Varsity Blues”) and well-known music executive Steve Rifkind have partnered with Universal Music Group to launch All Def Music, a new “record” label whose sole focus is the promotion and development of artists via the medium of YouTube. Under the ADM umbrella, the partnership will also launch ADD Management. Rifkind has been named CEO of ADM and ADD Management. The launch was announced today in a statement from UMG.
The official launch of All Def Music is a concerted push behind the YouTube network (and underlying model of) All Def Digital that Simmons launched last year through his company Rush Digital Media. As well, a partnership between Simmons and Robbins on the venture, via Rush and Robbins’ AwesomenessTV startup, was announced earlier this year. The pair had also collaborated on hip-hop documentary “The Show” in the mid-’90s.
Rifkind, who founded Loud Records in 1992 (home of the Wu-Tang Clan, Xzibit, Three 6 Mafia among others), had most recently signed a three-year deal with Universal in early 2011 to continue on as president of SRC, the hip-hop label he founded in 2002, before exiting in September of 2012, reportedly going on to help promote a new basketball league, though details on the fate of the league remain scarce.
“The exponential growth of Internet-based video has created a powerful new outlet for music and music-based content, and the launch of All Def Music is a part of our broader strategy to partner with some of the most experienced entrepreneurs in media and technology to identify future stars and develop powerful content on the world’s fastest growing media platform,” wrote UMG chairman Lucian Grainge about the new business and its attendant model.
Simmons echoed sentiments expressed in the initial launch of the ADD YouTube network, saying in a statement that “this is the most exciting new terrain for me, to move talent across all media platforms and I couldn’t have better partners in Brian and Steve, and the most innovative of music executives, Lucian Grainge.”
ADD Management’s first announced signings are Spoken Reasons (born John A. Baker, Jr.), whose YouTube channel boasts 1.37 million subscribers, and “suburban rapper” Asher Roth, who will be featured in an “unscripted music-themed show” titled “Lemonade.”
Cristiano Ronaldo Breaks 11 Year Old’s Wrist With Free Kick (Video)
Spotted on the Guardian:
Cristiano Ronaldo breaks an 11-year-old football fan’s wrist after blasting a free kick into the crowd during a friendly between Bournemouth and Real Madrid on Sunday. Charlie Silverwood got hit after just six minutes of the game, but was determined to stay for the full 90 minutes. After the game Ronaldo sent Charlie a signed shirt by way of apology.
Tim Duncan’s Wife Claims That He Is Gay During Divorce Proceedings
Taken from Dairy of a Hollywood Street King:
We’ve learned there’s one man in Tim Duncan’s life who the NBA All-Star doesn’t want the public to know about. Though we can’t yet confirm his identity, we can tell you he’s reported to be Duncan’s longtime undercover lover!
The said bromancin’ boys reportedly met back when Duncan was in college. Sources say the men lived together through college, four-years after college — and even shacked up under the same roof as Amy, during the first two-years of the Duncan’s marriage, before the baller reportedly purchased a condo for his boy. That’s why we’re told Timmy’s looking to have a gag order placed on Amy, as the couple’s divorce proceedings move forward.
Here’s the drop:
“Amy treated Tim like a bitch throughout their marriage because she knew he was fucking his BFF. Tim knows Amy was cheating on him but he’s willing to give her whatever she wants, because he doesn’t want Amy to tell the world that he’s bisexual.”

UPDATE: J. Cole Apologizes For Autism Lyrics; Drake Adds His 2 Cents
I said something in a rap that was offensive to those with Autism. Feel terrible. A tweeted apology wouldn't do. http://t.co/cyMbXubz3T
— J. Cole (@JColeNC) July 21, 2013
UPDATE: Drake has piggybacked off of J. Cole’s response in regards to his ‘autism’ lyric as well.
J. Cole wrote a beautiful and moving apology to individuals and families affected by autism who were understandably hurt by a verse in “Jodeci Freestyle”. I share responsibility and offer my sincerest apologies for the pain this has caused. Individuals with autism have brilliant and creative minds, and their gifts should not be disparaged or discounted. This was a learning lesson for both of us, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to try to right this wrong. J. Cole and I believe that it is the right, responsible, and respectful decision to remove the lyric from the song.
****************************************
J. Cole Tweeted this last night in response to a lyric that he rapped on ‘Jodeci Freestyle’ (his recent collaboration with Drake):
‘I’m artistic, you n****s is autistic, retarded”.
Autistic rappers and groups alike have already blasted Cole for the remarks, and as such, he has apologized on his website regarding the matter (he also somewhat addressed the fact that rappers are being attacked over lyrics quite a bit as of late).
Autism Speaks
Recently there’s been a trend that includes rappers saying something
offensive, only to be attacked for it in the media and pressured to
apologize. I have to be completely honest and say there’s a part of me
that resents that. I view rap similar to how I view comedy. It’s going
to ruffle feathers at times. It’s going to go “too far”. I do not
believe that an apology is needed every time someone is offended,
especially when that apology is really only for the sake of saving an
endorsement or cleaning up bad press. With that said, this is not the case today. This letter is sincere.
This apology IS necessary. In a recent verse on the song “Jodeci Freestyle”, I said something
highly offensive to people with Autism. Last week, when I first saw a
comment from someone outraged about the lyric, I realized right away
that what I said was wrong. I was instantly embarrassed that I would
be ignorant enough say something so hurtful. What makes the crime
worse is that I should have known better. To the entire Autism community who expressed outrage, I’m moved and
inspired by your passion, and I’m amazed at how strong you are as a
unit. I have now read stories online from parents about their
struggles and triumphs with raising an Autistic child and I admire how
incredibly strong you have to be to do so. It’s touching. It also
makes what I said even more embarrassing for me. I feel real shame.
You have every right to be angry. To anyone suffering from Autism, either mildly or severely, I am
sorry. I’m bound to make mistakes in my life, but in my heart I just
want to spread Love.I want to educate myself more on Autism, and I’ll gladly own my
mistake and serve as an example to today’s generation that there’s
nothing cool about mean-spirited comments about someone with Autism.
People with this disorder and their loved ones have to go through so
much already, the last thing they need is to hear something as
ignorant as what I said. I understand. To the parents who are fighting through the frustrations that must
come with raising a child with severe autism, finding strength and
patience that they never knew they had; to the college student with
Asperger’s Syndrome; to all those overcoming Autism. You deserve
medals, not disrespect. I hope you accept my sincere apology.Much Love
-Cole

— Wave Child (@HarryFraud) July 22, 2013

— Wave Child (@HarryFraud) July 22, 2013
For the label I am looking to create partnerships with other independent minded artists and release wavy music. Its not about signing people
— Wave Child (@HarryFraud) July 22, 2013
#SurfSchoolRecordings is an independent label that has secured major distribution…do you know what that means? It means we are dangerous!

Miley Cyrus Confirms That She Was Really Singing About Molly In Latest Song
Those that watched the video for (or listened to) Miley Cyrus new single ‘We Can’t Stop’ noticed that she had a line that sounded like ‘dancing with Molly’, which she corrected in interviews as ‘Miley’…..which made sense. What’s funny is that she really was singing about poppin’ MDMA, as was revealed courtesy of the Daily Mail, along with the fact that her video would have been worse (spotted on Celebitchy):
Her video was even more explicit: “No gyrating, no ———-, there was a lot less. They took out literally everything. I thought the video wasn’’t bad, then MTV in the UK sent, like, 18 notes asking for changes.”
Being a Disney star was so awful: “I wasn’t really worried about it because I feel that time was something that I had to do what everyone has to do — work at something that you don’t necessarily love to get to be able to do what you do love. I would say everyone has to start from the bottom, to get where they want to go and work on things they don’t really care about doing. So I had to do that for five years. I had to work on something that wasn’t really a passion for me just because I wanted to be able to get here, so when I was older I’d be able to just do what I want and not have to work for money.’”
On the censors: “Then I’ll give you an edit. I just think the world is so lame because you can shoot people in a movie and you can let people like Zimmerman off on trial but you can’t have someone going like this (she stimulates oral sex gesture), that is so dumb to me.”
She’s not worried about alienating her fans: “People need to also remember that Britney when she did Slave or anything it was just a different time so it was less real because Can’t Stop I wanted it to be kind of gritty, like everything is about Instagram, about things going viral and I wanted to celebrate that. But Britney or Madonna never played it safe, none of the best pop artists ever did. I feel like I live in a different world, I live in LA, I see everything.”
About that “Molly” reference: “It depends who’s doing what. If you’re aged ten it’s ‘Miley,’ if you know what I’m talking about then you know. I just wanted it to be played on the radio and they’ve already had to edit it so much.”
Her version of growing up: “I don’t think people have a hard time understanding that I’ve grown up. You can Google me and you know what I’m up to – you know what that lyric is saying.”
Did Tyrese Diss Ginuwine For Being High During Performance?
I’ma come clean guys: I posted their performance, but I didn’t watch it……I had some shit to do, I guess — I don’t know. Apparently, Ginuwine was fried, high or something related during what fans called one of the worst performances from the trio. I’m saying all this to say, Tyrese has decided to go in on Twitter, apparently:
Urban Belle reported that Tyrese said some pretty serious things on Twitter:
Tyrese and Tank played it cool through the rather interesting performance from Ginuwine and to be fair he did nail his solo part. But Tyrese’s latest tweets are being perceived by some as shade at Ginuwine. Tyrese tweets:
It’s already been revealed…. You ain’t sh*t… Now it’s on me to make the next move…..
Sometimes you gotta cut the grass in your life real low.. So that the SNAKES are revealed …
I make you uncomfortable cause I’m calling you on your sh*t and expecting to adjust… I’m addicted to being feet and producing RESULTS!
If you don’t believe no one else will…. I’m a GIANT within… And to WIN you have to prepare to lose a few friends along the way..
We ourselves did notice some more lighthearted banter about eyedrops (which you’ll see below), but I don’t know…..did Ginuwine fuck up the vibe? Check it out for yourself here.

George Zimmerman Reportedly Rescued Victims Of A Car Crash
Taken from NY Daily News:
George Zimmerman helped rescue a family from an overturned car after an accident in Florida last week, a spokesman for his lawyer said.
Zimmerman was driving on route 417 in Sanford on Wednesday when he spotted an overturned car and pulled over to help, Sean Vincent, a spokesman for Zimmerman’s legal team, told the Daily News.
“There was a family trapped in there,” Vincent said. “George was able to help the family get out of the car before the first responders got there.”
Zimmerman’s involvement in the accident was first reported by ABC News.
Clutching a fire extinguisher he keeps in his car for emergencies, the 29-year-old volunteer watchman checked for signs of a blaze before freeing the family and waiting for rescuers to arrive.
Zimmerman gave a statement to a police deputy, who recognized him, Vincent said.
Sanford police told ABC News the crash occurred at the intersection of I-4 and route 417, less than a mile from where he shot Trayvon Martin in February 2012.
The incident came just four days after a jury found Zimmerman not guilty of second-degree murder and manslaughter in the teen’s death.

— Meek Mill (@MeekMill) July 22, 2013
This seemingly comes from out of nowhere (aside from interviews between the artists, nothing was that serious where it would lead to some kind of beef), but Meek Mill is now sending indirect shots at rival Philly emcee Gillie Da Kid on Twitter.
