Young Buck (youngbuck) Sentenced To 3 Years In Prison

MSNBC released a report today:

“David Darnell Brown, was arrested for possessing weapons despite being a convicted felon following a stabbing several years prior.

The judge sentenced the rapper to serve his two counts concurrently, so he will spend a total of 18 months in jail.

“With the judge not considering my history to subtract some time, I’m just thankful for what time I do have,” Young Buck said.

Young Buck is also involved in a bankruptcy case after a contract dispute with record label G-Unit Records. Numerous pieces of gold and diamond jewelry once owned by the rapper will be auctioned by the IRS on July 26.

“I’ve had some rough times. I’ve been fighting the bankruptcy situation, and there were some court situations,” he said.

In December, a U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge in Nashville converted the rapper’s bankruptcy case from a Chapter 11 reorganization to a Chapter 7 liquidation. The trustee administering his estate said she planned to sell the trademarked “Young Buck” name along with other assets seized for non-payment.

Creditors submitted claims totaling $11.5 million, including $10 million that the label G-Unit Records said Young Buck owed them.”

The report also said later on that Buck “will be subject to court-ordered supervision for three years after his release.  ‘My pride is through the roof. My head is held high, and I’m just looking to get all this behind me.'”

Lord Finesse Files $10 Million Suit Against Mac Miller

As most people probably know, Mac Miller used a Lord Finesse instrumental for his extremely popular 2010 mixtape song “Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza” (pictured above.) Lord Finesse is claiming that Mac profited from the song. The suit is controversial, especially because Finesse apparently failed to clear on of the songs he sampled in the original, “Hip 2 Da Game.” Both Mac Miller and Lord Finesse took to twitter to comment on the lawsuit.

Mac Miller tweeted all of the following:

“‘I’m supposed to be on hush but lemme speak on this real quick.’

‘1. I made that record and video as nothing more than an 18 year old kid who wanted to rhyme and pay homage, no other intentions.’

‘2. Finesse and I spoke on the phone for an hour after he heard the record and cleared the air.
We even planned to work on music together.’

‘3. All I wanted to do is shed light on a generation that inspired me.’

‘4. When I heard there was a problem, I reached out to him to try and solve it. No response.’

‘5. Finesse never cleared the Oscar Peterson sample on the original record. I did nothing wrong. We spoke on the phone had a good conversation, he was cool with the record. It’s all love tho. I ain’t even mad at dude. He still a legend.’

‘Lord Finesse, thank you for what u did for hip hop. Thank you for bringing my favorite rapper into the game.
To my fans, don’t be disrespectful. Finesse is a legend. If you have a problem with his actions be intelligent about it and be respectful. ‘”

Finesse responded with these tweets:
“‘1. I appreciate Mac’s kind words but his people did not handle his business correctly.’

‘2. Basics – Mixtapes are one thing, but you can’t take someone else’s entire song, shoot a music video and call it your own.’

‘3. Mac’s on the top of his game right now. I wish him the best in Europe and I hope to hear from him besides on Twitter.’
‘Wow.. Mac. We spoke trying to resolve the situation. Next thing you back on Twitter.. wow.. ‘”

No idea how this lawsuit will play out but seeing Mac Miller’s fans bash Lord Finesse without knowing who he is at all is about as disappointing as Finesse’s lawsuit was to begin with.
