Ol’ Dirty Bastard To Be Played By Michael K. Williams In Biopic

Get More: Music News

From MTV:

A movie based upon the life of the Wu-Tang Clan’s Ol’ Dirty Bastard titled “Dirty White Boy” is in the works. Entertainment Weekly exclusively reports that actor Michael K. Williams, most known for his roles as Chalky White on Boardwalk Empire or the frightening, gunshot-toting Omar Little in The Wire, will take on the role of Russell Jones a.k.a. ODB.  “Dirty White Boy” is based on the final years of ODB’s life and will focus on the strange personal and professional relationship between the rapper and Jarred Weisfeld, a 22-year-old VH1 production assistant who eventually became ODB’s manager in the early 2000s.

The film will chronicle the beleaguered rapper’s well-known addictions. ODB died of a fatal overdose in 2004 at the age of 35.At the time, Weisfeld told MTV News, “He was the complete opposite of what people made him out to be. He was a teddy bear.”

“Dirty White Boy” is being produced by Lars Knudsen and Jay Van Hoy (“Beginners”) and the screenplay is by Brent Hoff, who worked at VH1, where he first met ODB and his manager. The role of Weisfeld has yet to be cast.

In 2009, ODB’s relatives and Wu colleagues shared his story in the documentary “Dirty.”Directed by ODB’s cousin Raison Allah, the doc set out to answer the question: “Who was Dirty?”

Coroner Gives Cause Of Whitney Houston’s Death

Update: cocaine was also reportedly removed from her hotel room where she passed on. From CNN:

The cause of singer Whitney Houston’s death was drowning and the “effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use,” the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said Thursday.

She was found dead last month in the bathtub of her hotel room in Beverly Hills, California.

The manner of death was listed as an “accident.”

Cocaine and metabolites were identified and contributory to her death, the report said.

Other drugs identified in Houston’s body were marijuana, alprazolam (Xanax), cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril) and diphenhydramine (Benadryl), but they “did not contribute to the death,” the report said. Flexeril is a muscle relaxant, and Benadryl is an allergy medicine.

No trauma or foul play is suspected, the report said. The final coroner’s report will be available within two weeks, the coroner’s office said.

Funkmaster Flex (@funkmasterflex) & DJ Clue (@DJCLUE) Are At It Again; This Time Over A Nicki Minaj (@NickiMinaj) Record

Sooooo apparently last night, Funk Flex went on a rant during his radio show against DJ Clue, which started because Clue was bragging about beating Flex in the ratings the night before on twitter….

In this rant, Flex claims that he went into DJ Clue’s email and took an exclusive record, specifically, Nicki Minaj’s, ‘Beez In The Trap’. Flex also went in on DJ Clue claiming that he is not made for radio.

Among the many quotes aimed: “You talk the talk, walk the walk…this is not your arena. This radio thing is not your arena, okay!”

Clue has since responded….you can check that out and the rant below.

Oh, man. SMH…..from TMZ:

“Rhythm of the Night” singer El DeBarge was arrested for drug possession in L.A. yesterday … and cops believe El may have been trying to deal the junk.

El was popped around 2 PM in Encino, CA … after LAPD officers observed him participating in what appeared to be a drug deal with another man near the 101 Freeway.

Jeremih Claims He Didn’t Lip Sync During His Recent ‘Infamous’ Performance

From TMZ:

Singer Jeremih is adamant … he did NOT lip sync at a spring break concert Wednesday night — when he was pelted with drinks — telling TMZ, he just sang loudly over a recording of his own voice.

According to Jeremih, the situation wasn’t ideal regardless — because the promoters didn’t adequately prepare the stage or provide the right equipment for J to perform.

Jeremih tells us, he was late on stage because the crew wasn’t ready for him to perform — but the crowd was chanting his name anyway … so he decided to make do with what he could.

Big mistake — because Jeremih says the equipment backfired … playing his vocal track much louder than he wanted … making it look like he was trying to lip sync, when he wasn’t.

As for the bottle attack — Jeremih says a girl threw her underwear at him and the girl’s boyfriend got jealous, hurling a bottle at Jeremih in retaliation. Jeremih walked off soon after.
