SXSW Drunk Driver Crash Claims Another Life Two Weeks Later

A fourth person has died in the aftermath of the tragic crash at SXSW in which a man drove his car into a crowd outside a show at the Austin, Texas, festival.

18-year-old DeAndre Tatum, of Fort Worth, Texas, died on Thursday (March 27), two weeks after the incident that left 23 injured and two dead at the scene, The Austin American Statesman is reporting. He was a recent graduate of Trimble Technical High School.

Austin resident Jamie West, 27, and 35-year-old Netherlands native Steven Craenmehr were found dead at the scene on March 13. Sandy Thuy, a 26-year-old Austin resident, died four days later.

Rashad Charjuan Owens, 22, was taken into custody shortly after the incident. He faces capital murder charges and aggravated assault charges and his bail is reportedly set at $3 million. Owens was reportedly trying to evade police during a high-speed chase when he crashed into the crowd.

New charts will be the first to use Twitter data to identify the top and emerging tracks and artists of the moment Billboard and social media platform Twitter today announced an exclusive, multi-year partnership to create Billboard Twitter Real-Time Charts. The charts, which will launch in the coming weeks, will track US music conversations among the millions of Tweets sent each day. Combining the authority of the Billboard charts and Twitter’s public, real-time data, these powerful co-branded charts will reshape for consumers and the industry the way music success is measured.

As part of the initiative, Billboard and Twitter have signed a Twitter Amplify partnership, which will help distribute the chart beyond Billboard.com and include custom in-Tweet charts and in-Tweet video round ups of the week in music on Twitter

The charts will reflect the top tracks being discussed at the moment and over an extended period of time on Twitter, as well as surface the most talked about and shared songs by new and upcoming acts. The chart will live on Billboard.com and will also be shared through Billboard’s Twitter account, @billboard, multiple times a week.

Lady Gaga is taking over New York City for her birthday (March 28). She gave her fans an artful gift before her show tonight at the Roseland Ballroom.

As reported, the songstress opened up her “G.U.Y.” exhibition earlier this afternoon at the OUT NYC Hotel at West 42nd. The pieces will borrow props and scenes from her 11-minute video she released last weekend.

The “G.U.Y.” exhibition was revealed yesterday to the New York Post’s Page Six via a “spy” in Lady Gaga’s camp. Despite the last minute notification, the fans showed up in numbers outside The OUT NYC before the show officially opened.

Raff was out in Miami Tuesday when we asked about his date with the “Dark Horse” singer — Raff says he took Katy out for the Holy Trinity … sushi, bowling, and drinks … and he had a blast.

If Katy’s down — Raff says he’d love to see her again … maybe next week when she’s back in the country.

We’re a little surprised though — Katy’s a busty woman … and from this clip, it’s pretty clear Raff’s an ass man. You gotta see it.

Director Recruited For Upcoming ‘Scarface’ Remake, Which Moves The Story From Miami To Los Angeles

Some new details for the upcoming recreation of the classic film Scarface….spotted on The Wrap:

Chilean filmmaker Pablo Larraín (“No”) is in negotiations to direct the new “Scarface” movie for Universal Pictures and Marc Shmuger’s Global Produce, TheWrap has learned.

“Scarface” will reimagine the core immigrant story told in both the 1932 and 1983 films. Universal’s update will be an original story set in modern day Los Angeles that follows a Mexican immigrant’s rise in the criminal underworld as he strives for the American Dream.

Two-time Oscar nominee Paul Attanasio (“Donnie Brasco”) wrote the current draft of the screenplay.

Marc Shmuger, who won this year’s PGA Award for Best Documentary (“We Steal Secrets”), is producing the film under his Global Produce banner along with Marty Bregman, who produced the 1983 movie.

The filmmakers plan to cast an authentic Latino who is bilingual and bicultural as the lead character, whose name will be Tony, though his last name won’t be Camonte (1932) or Montana (1983). While Oscar Isaac, Edgar Ramirez and Michael Pena rank among Hollywood’s top Latino stars who are age-appropriate for the role, the producers are also open to casting a complete unknown in the name of authenticity.

Chief Keef Is Paying For Funeral Of Chicago Infant

Chief Keef posted on Instagram today (March 28) that he will be paying for the funeral of Jakariah Patterson.

Two-year-old Patterson was found dead earlier this month. Her father, Jeremiah L. Thompson, was ordered to be held without bail after being charged with her killing, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The report says that Thompson killed Patterson in their Lansing, Illinois residence after she soiled herself while he was taking care of her. She was not toilet trained.

“RIP TO JAKARIAH PATTERSON BEAT TO DEATH BY. TELL THE NEWS TO REPORT THIS IM PAYING FOR THE FUNERAL,” the Chicago rapper wrote on his Instagram account.

Word has been going around that Chief Keef was involved in a shooting at the home of his manager earlier this week, and while the Chi-Town’s manager told TMZ that Keef was there but was not the shooter, Sosa wants everyone to know that any rumors that he was in fact the victim are a bunch of bull.

“Who lied and said I got shot! ?????????? Stop It Girrrrrlllll. This girl goes out to u boys too!,” Keef tweeted on Thursday.

Coincidentally, Chief Keef posted several pictures to Instagram just a few days before the shooting of him and fellow Glo Gang rapper Ballout showing off their guns.

Some of the worshipers tell TMZ … they believe Mase is living a double life, spending as much time in the studio with hardcore rappers as in the church. And they say his messages from the pulpit drip in hypocrisy, because what he raps about is exactly the opposite.

One of the things that set parishioners off … the TMZ story that Mase — who built both his church and his fortune on his marriage — secretly filed for divorce in January and then withdrew the legal docs a few weeks later.

Some of the parishioners tell us Mase has been going on and on about the virtues of marriage even after the TMZ post, never addressing his own failures … and they’re fed up.

There’s talk now about refusing to fund the church … that’s how bad things have become.

“Real Housewives of Atlanta” stars Porsha Williams and Kenya Moore exploded on each other Thursday … and it was a quick but full-on bitch fight.

Eyewitnesses tell TMZ … the brawl went down during the reunion show. We’re told Porsha just snapped — it looked like a nervous breakdown. She charged Kenya and it was on. There was clawing and hair-pulling before they were pulled apart.

It was bad enough that someone called 911 and the cops raced to the scene. No one was arrested.

As for why they fought — it’s unclear. The people who were there tell us the tension between them had been mounting, but there was nothing obvious that triggered the fight. Here’s what’s obvious to us … Porsha’s on the chopping block, so this may be her way of staying on the show.

Bitches on reality shows. They’re awesome.

Kanye West slinked into a police station for less than an hour Thursday … when no one was looking.

Kanye was booked in connection with his misdemeanor battery case … for beating on a photog at LAX. He pled no contest earlier this month and was required to turn himself in for booking.

So Kanye — and his crafty lawyer — chose yesterday at 4:30 PM. He went to the Hollywood LAPD station and got his mug shot taken and then got fingerprinted. It took a grand total of 49 minutes and he was out.

Kanye has to keep his nose clean for 2 years and also has to attend 24 private therapy sessions for anger management.

Thief Sells Stolen Car Posing As Chip’s Brother

A suspected car thief who sold a stolen vehicle to a mother-of-four pretended to be the brother of Tottenham rapper Chip — and even posed for photographs.

The alleged fraudster showed Bernadette Beaumont tattoos on his hands similar to those sported by the grime artist, formerly known as Chipmunk. When she asked to take a picture of him to show her children, he agreed.

There is no suggestion he is related to Chip.

Mrs Beaumont, 45, was conned out of £8,000 after answering a car magazine advert offering a black Nissan Juke for £10,000.

The seller told her to meet him near Golders Green Tube station on February 26. After haggling, he dropped the price to £8,000 and Mrs Beaumont took the car, which had false plates, for a test drive.

A background check flagged “no crashes or finance issues” and she paid cash.

Mrs Beaumont, from Essex, said: “I asked for photos so I could show my children who I knew would be more excited than I was. He told me to take a photo of the tattoos on his wrists because they are exactly the same as Chipmunk’s, and then posed for a cheesy, grinning shot.”

The scam was uncovered the next day when Mrs Beaumont’s brother found the tax disc was fake and the chassis number had been covered up.

Police told Mrs Beaumont the car had been stolen from Bedfordshire, and returned it to its owners.

Nitin Khandhia, partner at BTMK solicitors in Southend, said: “Without finding the fraudster there is little or no hope of her getting back any of her money. We only hope someone who recognises him from his photo will make contact and assist us in finding him.”

Essex police said it was investigating.

UPDATE: Chief Keef Reportedly Involved In Chicago Shooting

UPDATE #2: Chief Keef was in fact arrested and taken in for questioning (footage above). The victim is also now listed in stable condition.

UPDATE: Complex is now claiming that Keef is now in custody and that someone was, in fact, shot at Keef’s residence.

TMZ is reporting that Chief Keef was present during a shooting in Chicago, and thanks to his affinity for guns and Instagram (together), it’s not a good look for him at all:

We called Keef’s people to determine the extent of the rapper’s involvement — his lawyer tells us Keef wasn’t the shooter … he just happened to be present when shots were fired.

The Northfield PD says the shooting victim is in ICU.

The rapper really knows how to implicate himself in a crime — on Monday, Keef plastered his Instagram page with photos of guns, including an AK-47, and the photos appear to serve as a warning. Keef wrote the captions, “Another situation. Already.”
