If you began thinking about packing up and moving to Colorado, you may want to familiarize yourself with the latest possible change in purchasing your medical and recreational marijuana. After recently legalizing marijuana in the state of Colorado, many people became upset over rumors that shops that sell medical and recreational marijuana would be allowed to have EBT-ready ATM machines, which would allow welfare recipients to get cash for their purchases. Recently, legislation approved the use of EBT benefits at marijuana shops.State Senator Vicki Marble does not support improper use of government welfare funds being available to support recreational marijuana usage. Republican supporters have tried to add strip clubs and marijuana shops to a list of establishments that do not allow EBT cash withdrawals. The list also includes gun stores, liquor stores and casinos.Democrats have argued that there are not many EBT-ready ATM machines in neighborhoods, therefore limiting their benefits would be of no use.

Justin Timberlake Reportedly Turned Down Performing At This Year’s GRAMMYs
Spotted on Hits Daily Double:
With the Grammys under two weeks away, NARAS head Neil Portnow, executive producer Ken Ehrlich and CBS EVP Specials, Music & Live Events Jack Sussman are doing everything possible to put together a great show. But absent from the talent lineup as of now are Justin Timberlake and Jay Z, two of music’s biggest stars, who were snubbed in the major categories, and whose presence on the telecast is crucial in the team’s concerted effort to recover from last year’s ratings slump. CBS is in year two of a 10-year deal to televise the Grammys, shelling out a reported $60m annually for the rights—and the show’s ratings derive directly from the wattage of its combined star power. According to Timberlake insiders, JT has turned down the invitation to perform and isn’t likely to change his mind.
Rick Ross Buys Evander Holyfield’s 109-Room Mansion
Spotted on Creative Loafing…below the expensive breakdown, Rick Ross speaks on buying the huge residence with REVOLT TV.
Valued at $10 million before the real estate bust, JPMorgan Chase & Company purchased the 54,000-square-foot spread, which sits on 105 acres and has 109 rooms, in 2012 for $7.5 million after it went into foreclosure. When the New York Times reported on it last November, the home was on the auction block with a bidding price that had reached $2.75 million. Holyfield reportedly owed $14 million on the 20-year-old mega-mansion at the time of foreclosure.
In addition to being listed as the “largest single family home in GA,” the 12-room, 21-bathroom main house boasts a 350,000-gallon outdoor pool, bowling alley, baseball field, and indoor lap pool. There’s also an extra 4,000-square-foot home on the property that one of Holyfield’s ex-wives resided in for a spell after their divorce.
Of course, the upkeep costs a pretty penny: approximately $1 million annually, Holyfield once told the AJC, with monthly power bills in the $17,000 range.
@Wale Addresses Social Media Absence In Letter To Fans
I’m not sure what Every Blue Moon is yet, but in addition to his remix of Lorde’s ‘Royals’ being released via the brand’s Tumblr page, Wale has also written an extensive letter that addresses his absence from social media, and how he plans to evolve in 2014 (and beyond). You can check out said letter in it’s entirety below.
Where have I been?
Man, I been everywhere. Everyday trying to get a better understanding of myself and this crazy game I have given my life to.
What I’ve come to grips with is the fact that I am not superhuman, BUT super human. I think our culture has made it almost a prerequisite to be “too cool” or “swagged out” carrying a “nothing can phase me” image. It’s to the point that the ones who show they care, get attacked the most. Who ever thought we’d see a day when somebody used the word “poetic” as an insult? I certainly never thought that. “I can’t fuck wit Wale ‘ol poetic ass.” Really? These are the same people who probably have every Pac album embedded in their head. But, I digress. I took an absence from Twitter because I started to care tooooo much. I still don’t know the root of what makes me care THAT much, but I’m quite sure it started by wanting to lead people in a direction that wasn’t as cliché as some of my peers.
I’m no saint. I fuck with ratchet bitches. I say bitch. I bitch about things my damn self. But, I can honestly say, that I try to use my “human” traits as a means of relating to other humans. If I can bare my insecurities and flaws before you, maybe you won’t feel so insecure and flawed.
There came a point where people went out of their way to remind me that I’m missin my mark. Albeit, I made myself a target to slander and criticism. I think it became a trend to fuck with anybody that cared about people’s opinion. I’m not one of those people who make music for material things. I strive to make music for a public that appreciates raw emotion. And I will continue to.
I went through stages of frustration in my career with publications because of my own selfishness and sense of entitlement. I admit that. Nevertheless, I think if we calling a spade a spade, some media outlets be on they bullshit with me for reasons outside of music. But, my goal moving forward is to focus less on THEM and more on US. We all have goals and mine is simple. Empower the people. Empower MY fans and focus on MY fans and their energy . I don’t think it’s humanly possible for me to appease some of these outlets no matter what I create. It burns my soul to hear there’s no message tho. So knowin that I may have fell short of connecting with some of them, I’ve decided to use my energy on US. The guy with all the mixtapes. The guy who listens to every song twice because they know there’s things hidden in there. The girl who can’t wait to hear “Ambitious Girl 3” (Oh, it’s coming). The girl with the “Ambition” tattoo, who gets dressed to “Illest Bitch Alive” every morning . The ones who understood my frustration, hated my rant but understood it nevertheless . I may never be the biggest rapper in the world (still one of the best doe) but, I’ll be the most dedicated to my fans and it starts with this right here. This is rare. This is REAL. This is about us. This is about the music again. My ReRE -Dedication to greatness. What we got doesn’t happen often, nor with too many people. This is an rare occasion when a rare bond… Happens

Shakira Reveals Title, Release Date Of New Album
Shakira basically wrote a considerable amount on her Facebook just to let fans know that the title of her forthcoming album will be the un-creative Shakira. You can read it in full below.
“When the time came to put a name to this album…” / “Cuando llegó la hora de buscarle un título a este disco…”
I’m so happy that I will soon be sharing my latest album with you all, something I’ve been working on for over two years now. The work on this album has spanned a very eventful time, with many ups and downs but ultimately, the happiest period in my life thus far, including the birth of my son. I’ve explored many different directions, worked with many different people, and written many, many demos before arriving at the finished product I will soon be presenting to you.
When the time came to put a name to this album, I realized that it’s not exactly a thematic album, though love is and always has been one of my main subjects and sources for inspiration. It’s also not necessarily conceptual, as some of my albums have been in the past.
In the end, what I realized is that throughout the course of creating this body of work, I learned a lot about myself. Though I didn’t realize it at the time, all the directions I began exploring in the initial phases of recording were helping to pave a path for me of rediscovery. In the end I realized that I will always be a little bit of everything and I don’t have to choose. I am sometimes extremely sensitive, sometimes upbeat, others dreamy and romantic, and even at times a little melodramatic. (Call it the Caribbean blood.) But always authentic and always sincere.
Most importantly, I am enough. Imperfections and all. So what I am offering you now is just that.
Shakira.
Nothing more. A little bit of rock, a little bit of folk, a little reggae and naturally some dance–but as always, and above all, a lot of heart.I hope you enjoy.
Shakira
(The new album, Shakira, is out March 25th)
The Wanted Announce Break-Up
From the New York Daily News:
British boy band The Wanted gave their fans good and bad news on Wednesday.
The Scooter Braun-managed fivesome, which includes standouts Nathan Sykes and Max George, has announced that they will be taking a break in a post on their website.
After announcing the release of “Glow In The Dark,” and saying the new song will be performed during their upcoming Word of Mouth tour, the group also said the tour will be the “last for a while,” in a statement posted to their website.
“Tom, Max, Jay, Siva and Nathan have collectively decided to take time to pursue personal endeavors following the tour’s conclusion” the statement read.
“The band wants to stress to their fans that they will continue on as The Wanted and look forward to many successful projects together in the future. They thank their fans for their continued love and support and look forward to seeing them on tour.”
The band, consisting of Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker, and Nathan Sykes, gained worldwide fame with dance-pop hits like “Glad You Came” and “All Time Low.” In 2012 they moved to Los Angeles to film E! reality show “The Wanted Life.”
Sykes, 21, has already branched out as a solo act. The singer recorded the ballad “Almost Is Never Enough” with rumored ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande for her 2013 album “Yours Truly.”
Meanwhile George, 25, is known more for his personal life after being linked to Lindsay Lohan, and currently dating model Nina Agdal.

Eminem & D12 Could Be Working On A New Album
Spotted on FACT Mag:
The news comes from a piece on one-time Eminem producer Mark Bass in Detroit Free Press, which heavily intimates that the new material from the crew is in the pipeline. A telling section of the article reads as follows:
“Bass, who has started a label called Motunes Media, says he’s also been mixing new material by the mercurial funk-pop giant Sly Stone with members of the original Family Stone band, along with new D12 tracks, including three with Eminem,”
D12′s last full LP was 2004′s D12 World, and the group have been largely incognito since the murder of key member Proof in 2006.
Justin Bieber Drops $75,000 In Miami Strip Club
From TMZ:
Justin Bieber didn’t just make it rain … he made it pour in Miami … first hitting up a famous nightclub — and then dropping $75K in a strip club … this according to a rep from the strip club.
Justin flew from Colorado to Miami Beach — where he was spotted going into Mansion (above). A few hours later he went to King of Diamonds … we believe to attend Lil Scrappy’s birthday party.
A KOD rep confirms to TMZ … Justin got $75K in 1 dollar bills, and went wild.
And get this … the club was also celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Pitbull Was A No-Show For Egyptian Singer’s Videoshoot…And It’s All Akon’s Fault
I don’t know if it’s really Akon’s fault, per se…..check out the full story, courtesy of TMZ:
Rapper Pitbull torpedoed a famous Egyptian singer’s music video — after the singer spent hundreds of thousands to produce it — and it’s all Akon’s fault … this according to a new lawsuit.
Singer Tamer Hosny filed the suit against Akon … claiming he paid the singer $300K for both him and Pitbull to sing on Tamer’s new song “Arabian Knight.”
Akon delivered the track — but according to the lawsuit, in return for the $300K … Akon and Pitbull were supposed to appear in the “Arabian Knight” music video … but Pitbull was a no show.
Tamer claims Akon promised to deliver Pitbull for the shoot, so it’s his fault and he’s on the hook.
Tamer says it’s double the disaster because he had to pay $100K for cameras and crew the day of the shoot … all for nothing.
For some reason … Pitbull was not sued.
Calls to Akon’s camp weren’t returned.
Warrant Issued For Suge Knight After Court No-Show
From TMZ:
Suge Knight is now a wanted man … because a judge just issued a bench warrant for his arrest … and it’s pretty ironic, because he was supposed to show up on another warrant that was issued for not showing up.
TMZ broke the story … Suge was pulled over in September for driving without license plates. When he was pulled over cops realized he had an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in another case. Suge was then arrested, hauled off to jail, released and ordered to appear in court today.
Suge was a no-show, so the judge ordered the deputies to haul his butt into court and set bail at $26K.
And history repeats itself.
Young Jeezy Arrested For Obstruction In Atlanta
From TMZ:
Rapper Young Jeezy was just busted by cops outside Atlanta — and booked for obstructing police officers … TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell us Jeezy — aka Jay Wayne Jenkins — was arrested in Alpharetta … after cops responded to an alarm call at his girlfriend’s home … it’s unclear who or what triggered the alarm.
When cops arrived on scene … we’re told Jeezy was uncooperative with officers, refusing to identify himself, and cussing them out.
We’re told Jeezy told the officer who asked for his name and ID, “F**k you, I ain’t telling you” — and he attempted to pull away when cops were slapping the cuffs on him.
As we reported … Jeezy was arrested earlier this month for battery, false imprisonment and making terroristic threats after a blowout fight with his son.
He’s been booked at Fulton County Jail.

Big Boi & Andre 3000 May Be Releasing Solo Projects Before The Next OutKast Album
REVOLT TV did some investigative journalism to try to find out exactly what’s in the cards for the reunited Outkast (aside from the festivals and touring):
Despite the anniversary year, the move that seemingly came out of nowhere had actually been planned for quite some time, according to Brown, and a level of secrecy among label heads, the duo, and their associates helped it come off as a surprise. That secrecy remains, though, as questions have arisen over what the significance of the reunion actually means for hip-hop. Is one of the greatest groups of all time really getting back together, or is this a farewell tour?
The best way to figure that out would be to monitor the activity going on in Stankonia Studios, the band’s longtime workspace in Atlanta. Both Dre and Big Boi have been recording there as of late, sparking speculation around a new Outkast album. In reality, they’ve been laying tracks down for respective solo projects, according to Mr. DJ, the group’s longtime producer.
He’s not certain, but—brace yourself—he believes 3000 will drop his long-awaited solo album this year. BET’s Stephen Hill hinted at the idea last summer, when he tweeted out that Dre mentioned dropping a new album at the top of 2014. While it may not be coming that soon, a lot of material has been recorded for it, Mr. DJ notes.
Big Boi, meanwhile, also has a fair amount of material recorded for his own solo project, and Mr. DJ was in Stankonia with him just last week laying tracks down for it. The bigger plan at hand, it seems, is for both MCs to go on their 40-date festival run, drop solo projects, and then get back in the studio for a group project. Going on tour, Mr. DJ says, should help rekindle their creative relationship.
“I get the feeling that the energy and camaraderie from the tour will bring everything full circle,” he told REVOLT. “We may make it back in for an album following that.”
Notice the pronoun used there: “we.” If a new Outkast album is in the works, you better believe Mr. DJ will be a part of it. The same goes for Brown and the rest of Dungeon Family, the southern collective made up of Outkast, Goodie Mob, and Rico Wade, among other affiliates. All its members came into the game at the same time, so 2014 marks their 20th anniversary as well.
Goodie Mob member Big Gipp told REVOLT just last week that a full-blown DF reunion is in the works and that many of its members will be joining Outkast on certain tour dates, namely at this year’s CounterPoint Festival in Georgia.
Some of the DF members are also planning on releasing new music this year, such as Organized Noize—the production crew made up of Brown, Wade and Ray Murray. The trio, which crafted Outkast’s southern-fried funk sound, is planning on releasing an instrumental album and a book on its history this year.
What’s more, Brown has a new solo project coming, which will be straight vintage soul, built for cruising in Cadillacs and making babies. And, of course, there’s also the much-hyped collaboration between Dre and Future, an artist most fans don’t realize got his start in DF (Wade is his cousin). The song, expected to be on Future’s upcoming Honest and titled “Benz Bitch,” is a straight hip-hop track and will feature both artists laying down long verses, according to Mr. DJ.
We know, we know… All of this is almost too good to be true, especially for hip-hop fans who’ve been craving a return to the innovative music of the ’90s.
“It signifies an era for Atlanta and the South,” Brown confirmed. “Everyone in the family is banking on a big year.”
But, as we all know, anticipation can sometimes be dangerous. What if, by some unlikely chance, Outkast’s new album isn’t as mind-blowing as we all expect it to be? If a recent string of forgettable and unfortunate reunions are any indicator, the notion of Outkast’s potentially subpar reunion album brings on the broader question of whether just having the duo back together is good enough, or if the reunion must spawn recorded greatness in order for it to be a success. After releasing six across-the-board genius albums, could Outkast ruin its essentially flawless catalogue (i.e. “They were great, except for that last album”) with a new offering?
Needless to say, this is something that we, as music fans, and they, as genius musicians, are still trying to figure out. Perhaps if Outkast do end up dropping a less-than-stellar project, it will teach the music world at large to appreciate the moment—to realize how special an onstage reunion (if that’s all we get) really is. Or, maybe it’ll make us wish they never came back in the first place. That’s the risk that Big and Dre have to take on, and, after years of mulling it over, it seems as though they’ve finally accepted it.
Either way, we’ll catch you at one of their forty fest dates; we’ll be the ones in the front row.
