Laila Ali Apologizes To Kanye & Kim Over Baby Name Comments
After letting the world know how she really felt about ‘North West’, ‘Blue Ivy’ and any other name that falls into the pot, Laila Ali inexplicably apologizes to Kanye West & Kim Kardashian (two people whose asses I’m sure she could kick without blinking). Egypt: Laila, are you there babe?
Laila: I am here, how are you doing?
Egypt: Girl, this just seems so silly. But I know that you kinda had something on your heart when I called you too that you wanted to share with everybody. How did this thing just get blown out of proportion?
Laila: Okay, I was recently at a charity event and I was asked my opinion on some of these non-traditional and creative names and I was speaking very candidly and honestly as I always do. And you know, as a parent, knowing how cruel the world is and the bullying, and you know, kids have to grow up and get a job one day, I did say that I think some of these name choices are stupid. I do realize that it was a poor choice of words, you know, and it wasn’t to single out Kim or Kanye. I actually mentioned a bunch of names, not just the name North. It was a general opinion to a question that I was asked, but it doesn’t matter. I do realize and I take responsibility for it. I have no problem doing that. It was a poor choice of words that I used.
Egypt: Okay.
Laila: You know I actually reached out to Kim and Kanye to apologize.
Egypt: You know I think that’s very admirable of you because not too many people would have…said you know what, wait. Errr! Let me just put the brakes on here. Maybe I shouldn’t have said that or it came out wrong. But you know some people would even say you only said what everybody else was thinking, you know?
Laila: Well, that usually is the case.

Egypt: Let me tell y’all people something. If you keep naming your babies Glamadia and CharnetMoet Rose, come on they’re going to have trouble getting a job. In the future, we gotta think smart.

It’s been announced: on August 25th, Kanye West will be performing his latest “single”, ‘Black Skinhead’, at Brooklyn‘s Barclays Center for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. Given the love/hate relationship with the network, I can’t help but wonder if Kanye will rebel on the show or not…..nonetheless, I certainly look forward to watching!

Kanye West Creates ‘Got Bars’ Music Program In Chicago

The multi-platinum rapper’s nonprofit organization Donda’s House will launch an extensive music writing and production course titled ‘Got Bars’ for at-risk youth on Chicago’s South Side this fall. The 10-week program looks to offer kids ages 15-24, an additional non-violent outlet within their crime-laden community. Donda’s House — named after Kanye’s deceased mother Dr. Donda West — will partner with the ARK of St. Sabina to present the pilot program for free to participants beginning in August.
“My mom spent her life as an educator and I am happy that Donda’s House can pick up her torch and honor her life’s mission,” West said in a statement released earlier this week.
Donda’s House co-founder and Assistant Director Che “Rhymefest” Smith will assist his wife Donnie Smith in the overall operations of the program. Donnie Smith, a high school English teacher will steer the organization, while Rhymefest will work directly with students on the music aspect of the course.
“I am so happy to launch ‘Got Bars’ to honor Kanye West’s mother’s memory and to fulfill one of my Aldermanic campaign goals,” said Rhymefest. “Got Bars’ will change our youth musically, get them healthy and keep them busy in a creative, peaceful environment. I know it will be an even stronger program because of our partnership with the ARK of St. Sabina.”
As outlined in the program’s goals — each student will learn life-lessons, improve their physical health and create an original written piece that will be recorded or published and performed. Young people interested in applying to the program are encouraged to visit the Donda’s House website dondashouse.com for an online application, or stop by the ARK of St. Sabina located at 7800 S. Racine Chicago, IL.
Applications will be accepted through Friday, August 2.

Kanye West Is Now Under Investigation For Attacking Paparazzi At LAX

The Los Angeles Police Department has launched an investigation after West allegedly attacked videographer Daniel Ramos outside Los Angeles International Airport on Friday.
The altercation, caught on camera and posted on TMZ, took place after Ramos filmed the rapper and asked him questions as he walked out of the airport to a waiting car.
At one point in the video, an irritated West, 36, breaks his silence and accuses the paparazzo of trying to provoke him. “You’re trying to get me in trouble so I have to pay you, like, $250,000,” West says in the footage. He then appears to lunge at Ramos.

Kanye West Attacks Another Photog, Paramedics On Scene
TMZ Reports:
Sources connected with the photog tell us, Kanye was on his way out of the airport when he went ballistic, attacking the paparazzo.
An eyewitness tells us, Kanye was leaving the terminal with a bodyguard and approximately five paparazzi surrounded him, snapping pictures. We’re told one photog was especially aggressive — not a TMZ photog — and probed Kanye with tons of questions.
We’re told Kanye told the man not to ask him questions, but he kept going — and Kanye attacked, attempting several punches, and the man fell down. Paramedics and police are currently on scene.
Kanye has been out of the country since last week … when he laid down his now-infamous anti-pap rules, telling our photog NEVER TO TALK TO HIM EVER.

Kanye went off on a TMZ photographer today at LAX airport; this was after the camera man gave him props on Yeezus. Once the pap asked about Watch The Throne 2, Kanye then charged the photog.
