Kendrick called into Flex to speak on how the remix with Jay-Z came about. He reveals Hov sent his verse in first before he recorded his and that they will only be on a few shows together for Yahoo’s upcoming tour. He also touched on being named MTV’s Hottest MC and Kanye’s controversial opinion.
After getting a preview of the track during SXSW, Kendrick gives us the final version of his remix with Jay-z. This shit goes hard.
I’m really looking for that next Kendrick Lamar/Pharrell collab more than anything. The addition of Tip in the picture is cool, though.

While in Austin for SXSW, K-Dot spoke on having Jay-Z on his upcoming ”Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe” remix with MTV.
“Ah, man, I can’t really speak too much on it, I just know it’s in the air right now. I can’t — it’s under wraps. It’s all love. That’s the big homey. It’s one of them things, you know, you live up to and one of them moments to really challenge yourself and say ‘OK, that’s how I come in. Always looked up to the greats to be a great.’ So to actually be on a track with him, it’s an accomplishment.”

During SXSW, Yahoo announced their first international music festival with Hova and King Kendrick as headliners. Titled Yahoo! On The Road, the 21-stop trek begins May 3rd in New York with additional appearances from J. Cole, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis as well as Justin Timberlake, Frank Ocean and Trey Songz (for the London shows July 9th-14th). Check dates below.

Young Guru went head-to-head with Just Blaze today at the Empire Auto Space in Austin. During his set, he surprised the SXSW audience with the remix of “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe” with Hov.
Alicia Keys quasi-surprised fans by getting K-Dot on stage to perform ‘Poetic Justice’ (as she performed Janet Jackson’s part) before Kendrick segued into ‘Swimming Pools (Drank)’. Check it out above.
