Papoose Responds To Kendrick Lamar’s Latest Diss

Most of us have already seen/listened to the 15-second snippet of Kendrick’s cypher verse from the BET Hip-Hop Awards…..including Papoose, whom, after further digging (courtesy of UHTN), appears to be the direct target of Kendrick’s shots. XXL recently asked him how he felt on the matter:

You’ve gone back at Kendrick in the past with a verse. Are you planning on that this time?
Yeah yeah, he can’t fuck with me. He’ll never be able to shine my shoes, lyrically. So I’m just gonna be able to continue to prove that, to show and prove, like I did on “Control.” This is hip-hop, I love hip-hop, but I just want to continue to show and prove that he can’t fuck with me lyrically. You can look forward to that in my next release, straight up. I live in the studio, that’s my second home. So yeah, I’m definitely going to respond.

Are you going to wait to hear the full verse?
I don’t gotta wait, he’s very predictable. I already know what he’s capable of and what he’s gonna say; he’s very predictable. I don’t gotta wait. I can go right now and crush that little 15-second shit he did. That ain’t even about nothing. The guy’s predictable; he’s a very predictable artist. I already know what he’s gonna say before he even says it.

Kendrick Lamar Disses Drake During BET Cypher (VIdeo)

The BET Hip-Hop awards are set to air on TV October 15th; in the above clip, you can check out what clearly appears to be Kendrick Lamar taking a serious shot at Drake during his cypher performance. You can read an excerpt below.

“And nothing been the same since they dropped, ‘Control’ and tucked a sensitive rapper back in his pajama clothes. Ha, Ha, jokes on you, high-five, I’m bullet proof. Your shots will never penetrate me, pin a tail on the donkey, boy you been a fake.”

Drake Calls Out Kendrick Lamar At CRWN With YN

Sohh Reports:

According to reports, Drizzy took part in an open discussion with hip-hop journalist Elliott Wilson for his CRWN series in New York last night (September 22).

Last night, Drizzy Drake graced Elliot Wilson’s CRWN stage for the first time. Taking place at the NYU Shimmel center, October’s very own talked to the packed audience for over 2 hours. He gave away tons of intimate details about the recording of Nothing Was The Same and bits of his personal life. Myspace is set to release the video clips starting on Wednesday, but one particular moment made it’s way online already. When YN asked how he really felt about Kendrick’s “Control” verse, Drake didn’t seemed too moved by K. Dot’s lyrics. However, he admitted that they saw each other in person after at the VMAs and it was all love, but in Drake’s eyes it doesn’t seem like the verse has his complete cosign. (Miss Info TV)

Drake spent a few moments on the buzz Kendrick ignited and why his main objective did not make sense to him.

“That [‘Control’] verse was a moment to talk about. Are you listening to it now, though?,” he asked, hushing all 850 attendees at NYU’s Skirball Center, including Wilson. Drake continued: “He didn’t come in there on some wild, ‘I’m in New York, fuck everybody.’ I almost wish he had come in there on that shit because I kind of lost a little bit of respect for the sentiment of the verse,” Drake said. “If it’s really ‘fuck everybody’ then it needs to be ‘fuck everybody’. It can’t just be halfway.” (Miss Info TV)

Pusha T Speaks On Kendrick “Nosetalgia” Verse

Pusha T dropped another track off his solo album, My Name Is My Name….above, he tells Rob Markman that the record had been in the works for years before Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Control’ verse.

“I never heard [Kendrick] talk like that,. When I listen to it, I felt [Kendrick’s] last bars where [he’s] saying, ‘I’m myself. I can dibble-dabble over here, but I can still show you this is myself, this is me, who I am. He really showed out.”

Drake’s new album Nothing Was The Same is set to hit the stores on Tuesday, but leaked on the internet last night. On one of the tracks on the album, Drake seems to responde to Kendrick Lamar for his verse on Big Sean’s ‘Control’. You can read the lyrics below.

I don’t know why they been lying but yo !! is not that inspiring
Bank account statements just look like I’m ready for early retirement
!! any nicca that’s talkin’ that !! just to get a reaction
!! going platinum, I looked at my wrist and it’s already platinum
I am the kid with the motor mouth
I am the one that you should worry about
I don’t know who you’re referring to, who is this nicca you heard about?
Someone just talking that bull!!, someone just gave you the run-around
niccas downplaying the money but that’s what you do when the money down
I don’t waste time putting money down
I just go straight to who got it and buy it in cash
!! so good that you gotta come see me on tour and you gotta fly in first cla##
This has been years in the making, it’s all for the city
You know I come right every summer, Cash Money Records forever
I’m always big timin’ !! I came up right under Stunna
You know it
