Another track by Moose Records, this instrumental is by OnlyOne. “No Futur” starts off with a lovely piano that morphs into a bouncing track with a great beat. It’s a nice listen that’s relaxing and cool.
The Soft Moon – Black
A scathing and pulsing track by The Soft Moon off of Deeper by capturedtracks based out of Brooklyn. The song has a menacing beat and slow build that climaxes to synths that rip like chainsaws. It definitely has a dark appeal to it. It’s thumping like a Nine Inch Nails track and ambient like a Joy Division track, with these influences how could you go wrong?
Nude – Microphone Circle
Another track by Nude off of Moose Records from their release Moosetape #8. “Microphone Circle” starts off slow and collected, poised even, with a kind of sexy sample. It then explodes into a fierce rap before going back into a lull and starting again. Check it out.
Sicaa – Dream Flip
A kind of ambient instrumental track by Moose Records artist Sicaa. The track is vaguely reminiscent of Aphex Twin, with some nice digital flourishes in there. There’s some really nice transitions, like an ever-changing chaos struggling to break through to some sort of clarity.
Fenech Soler – Somebody (Farrow Remix)
A remix of the excellent track Somebody by Fenech Soler. The remix done by Leeds artist Farrow. is a dancier version of a dancey song full of reverb and delay. Pretty soon it gets cerebral and bouncy, never peaking too much. An excellent cut.
Inventions – Springworlds
A beautiful ambient track by experimental group Inventions. The duo, of Eluvium and Explosions In The Sky fame (on the Temporary Residence LTD label), have crafted a lush soundscape in this track vaguely reminiscent of Brian Eno, Spiritualized, or Sigur Ros. Very tranquil and peaceful, take a listen.
Sicaa – The Source
From the excellent Moose Records comes Sicaa’s The Source. A new LP which features chill ambient music and plenty of bleeps and bloops and trippy moments. Included here is the title track. It’s good, I swear. Listen above.
