“All My life has been one big weekend”

…yo the production in this is pretty sweet. I can’t lie. The live music…. And that guitar solo…. smh Not even Alex Wiley‘s best, but totally worth it. (had to grow on me though). Great aesthetic video too.

artworks-000049163092-3qbxis-t500x500Along with Chance The Rapper, Vic Mensa, and quite a few more, Alex Wiley and the rest of Chicago is holding it down. Check him out. Posted one of his latest “The Woods” off the [Club Wiley] mixtape, plus a few others, including “Spaceships II” with Chance The Rapper actually. Enjoy…

Oh’ wow this is dope!

The video is just a video, but the song! …The song is dope!

The first I’m hearing of Charlotte OC. …for obvious reasons. “Hangover” is off her recently released debut EP [Colour My Heart]. …But a NICE introduction! She kinda sounds like singer Elle Varner a little bit. At least on this song she does. The rest of her material is a little different. But still good.

charlotte_oc“Hangover” is my favorite of hers so far, and by all means the standout track on her [Colour My Heart] EP. …Although the EP’s title track is arguably another. Either way, you need to listen to Charlotte OC. I lost sleep on this track last night. The chick can sing, and “Hangover” has such a cool element of badass throwback soul that’s undeniably addictive. Check it out. Posted the new video, plus a few extras. Enjoy…

BONUS: Below I posted Charlotte OC’s music video for “Colour My Heart”, another standout track from her debut EP by the same name. I also went ahead and posted the full stream to the EP as well. Enjoy….

Stream: “Divas At The Disco” – Topaz Jones (Prod by Thelonious Martin)

artworks-000064376896-kr4jds-t500x500

…The production on this track by Thelonious Martin is what really sold me. But newcommer Topaz Jones drops a nice set of J. Cole-like bars to top it off.

An ill track… with some smoothly chopped up old soul samples that’l have you singing “Damn Damn Damn James….”. Haha… That’s Thelonious Martin‘s signature style though. Sample heavy and mean. #dope. An instant sell to any fans of Dilla, Just Blaze, Doom, Madlib, Alchemist, etc. #justlisten

“Divas At The Disco”. Enjoy…

BONUS: …Dope. …Thelonious Martin produced this one too. Except this one features a guy from NYC named Retch.

Cool cat. Gutta-like Mobb Deep delivery. Pretty ill spitter at times. Check him out. “Special Jim.”

Video: “Cavalier” – James Vincent McMorrow [Post Tropical]

“I remember my first love…”

Wtf?! I can’t get over how good this is! I literally just posted on this song last week, but I had NO idea there was a video, nor that the video was this good! Like no joke, I almost teared up. #dontjudgeme …I’ll still whoop your ass.

haha. No but seriously. This is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard, and the video just made it amazing. …A good reminder of how powerful the art of music can be when done right. …Especially when matched with a just as powerful visual.

“Cavalier” is a musical/visual masterpiece. And maybe it was just the right timing… Or maybe I was just in the right frame of mind…. But something about “Cavalier” had my emotions running wild.

It felt like someone was pulling at every string in my heart connected to love, pain, and regret. ….And I was completely connected to main character’s lost sense of hopelessness.

0602537554843A damn good music video, and a crazy beautiful experience. One that I certainly had to share.

So with no further ado. “Cavalier”, the debut single by Irish folk singer James Vincent McMorrow, off his upcoming album [Post Tropical]. …The video of which is directed by Aoife Mcardle. The part 1 of a 3 part video trilogy. Enjoy…
