After many high profile remixes and production placements, Ryan Hemsworth is releasing an album, Guilt Trips. This upbeat leak, “Against A Wall” features Lofty305 of the Miami indie-rap group Metro Zu with some echoing harmonies. Guilt Trips comes out next month.
After announcing 44108 last month, the artist formerly known as Chip The Ripper drops his latest mixtape. Features and production from Pusha T, Fat Trel, Scarface, Travis Scott, Lex Luger, Cardo and more. I can’t say I’ve been impressed with anything Chip has been saying for a while, his now sound just isn’t for me and his flow seems lazy. A perfect example is “Her friend is Norwegian. That means she’s from Norway.” That’s a real line, he said that in “Crown”, a perfect testament to how far he has fallen.
Quan drops another song in his usual singing style….this is something new and it could be a perfect way to follow up the success of “Type of Way”. He also finally addresses Future and their similar styles.
Hopefully we’ll hear the song in full soon, but here is a snippet of Lilas La Fleur’s latest.
“High Road” – Cults [Static]
Very impressive!!! Nice groove rock with a hint of Superfly in it. So smooth. “High Road” …The new song by New York garage-pop duo Cults. Off their upcoming album, [Static].
Loving the melodies set forth by this band and lead singer Maddie Follin. But even beyond this song, I love the Cults, well, …cult-like feel. (Cult classic type feel. Not cult go drink poison Kool-aid type feel -_-). They do a good job of throwing in all types of classic sounds from all types of eras. 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, you name it.. A lot of throwback, but just as much innovation. Definitely a signature sound. Diggin it. …Really diggin’ it…
Check it out. Posted “High Road”, plus the other song they’re releasing off the upcoming [Static] album, “I Can Hardly Make You Mine”. Enjoy…

Ariana Grande released her debut album “Yours Truly” worldwide yesterday. With smash singles “The Way” and “Baby I” on her debut album . You may remember the first track Midas released with Bear Witnez, Pro’Verb, Lyriciss & WHITEFOLKZ entitled ‘Highlander’ a few months back. Today, he returns with a new record featuring 3030DMP, Villian Style, Mo Betta, Muggsy Malone & SmCity. Original Roll Deep member Flow Dan goes absolutely crazy over a bassy production composed by Masro and not forgetting it’s available as a free download.

I happened to be listening to this Blu song (produced by Exile?) from a 2009 mixtape. The Radiohead-sampling track showcases the LA artist at his finest, introspective, lyrical and catchy.
“Hang Wit Me” was a big summer hit (it should have been bigger) but we didn’t get the CDQ version until today, when P. Rico’s Welcome To Puerto Rico mixtape went on iTunes untagged. Support him and go get that.

Sleigh Bells and the Creators Project release the video for “Bitter Rivals”, the title track from the duo’s upcoming album. I’m already seeing complaints in the comments on this video that its too Pop-y, too “clean”, too radio-friendly. I personally don’t mind it, but this single must be the first single for a reason. The full album comes out October 8th, but you can pre-order it here and buy the single on iTunes.
Thanks to Fake Shore Drive and L10 (who engineered Chance’s collaboration with Wayne) we now have a Drama-less version of “You Song” which is my favorite from the Dedication 5 mixtape. A review of the ‘tape is coming soon.
