Rowdy Rebel Released From Prison

Bobby Shmurda is expected to be out this time next year. From Page Six:

The 29-year-old “Computers” rapper, also known as Chad Marshall, was released on parole Tuesday after spending nearly four years at the Collins Correctional Facility in Erie County near the Canadian border for weapons charges, state Department of Corrections records show.

The Brooklyn-born crooner was initially arrested in 2014 alongside rapper Bobby Shmurda and other members of their GS9 crew on a slew of murder, drugs and weapons charges, Complex reported.

Rebel and Shmurda later took a plea on conspiracy to possess weapons and possession of weapons charges and were each sentenced to seven years behind bars, the outlet reported.

In August, Rebel had a successful meeting with the Board of Parole, which granted an early release date of Dec. 15, 2020, and allowed the rapper to finish out his sentence under community supervision, the outlet reported.

Even as he was behind bars, Rebel, who has an estimated net worth of $100,000, didn’t stop making music. He recently appeared on Pop Smoke’s song “Make It Rain” after delivering verses via a collect call.

Lil Wayne Pleads Guilty For Gun Charge

As seen on TMZ:

The feds say an anonymous tip led them to Wayne’s PJ at the Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport on December 23, 2019, and when they boarded to speak to the passengers … Wayne told them he had a gun in his bag.

Police say they found a gold-plated Remington 1911, .45-caliber handgun loaded with 6 rounds of ammunition. They also claim they found a bag containing personal use amounts of cocaine, ecstasy, and oxycodone.

Lil Wayne pled guilty to the gun charge Friday in Miami, and his sentencing is scheduled for next month. Weezy, who was convicted of a felony gun charge in NY back in 2009, is now facing up to 10 years in prison.

However, he’s likely to get leniency. Our sources say Wayne agreed to the guilty plea and in exchange, the government agreed to recommend a lighter sentence because he’s accepting responsibility. Ultimately, his sentence will be up to a judge, but it’s a good sign for Tunechi.

Florida Highway Patrol officials said the shooting happened just after midnight when a black Mercedes sedan, which the manager said was being driven by the rapper, entered westbound I-195 from Alton Road.

Authorities said a silver SUV pulled alongside the Mercedes and someone fired multiple gunshots, hitting the rapper in the leg several times.

A female passenger in the car wasn’t injured, authorities said.

The Mercedes turned back to Miami Beach and the victims flagged down an officer on 41st Street, officials said.

“The victim stated he was coming from a private party in Miami Beach but did not have any altercations prior to the shooting incident,” FHP said in a statement.

As a convicted felon involving a decade-old case, Lil Wayne wasn’t supposed to have a firearm on him during his travels to Miami last year. But investigators said the South Florida rapper, appearing high, admitted to owning a gold-plated pistol found in luggage during a search of his private jet just before Christmas of last year, according to state court records.

He told Miami-Dade police and FBI agents that the gun had been given to him as a Father’s Day gift, according to a copy of the search warrant obtained in January of this year by the Miami Herald.

RIP John Thompson Jr.

Legendary Georgetown coach John Thompson Jr., known simply as “Big John” throughout college basketball, has died at age 78.

Thompson, who led Georgetown to the 1984 national championship, built the program into a juggernaut, taking the Hoyas to three Final Fours in the 1980s while also winning seven Big East titles and leading the 1988 United States national team to a bronze medal in the Olympics.

“We are heartbroken to share the news of the passing of our father, John Thompson, Jr,” the Thompson family said in a statement released by Georgetown. “Our father was an inspiration to many and devoted his life to developing young people not simply on, but most importantly, off the basketball court. He is revered as a historic shepherd of the sport, dedicated to the welfare of his community above all else.

“However, for us, his greatest legacy remains as a father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. More than a coach, he was our foundation. More than a legend, he was the voice in our ear everyday. We will miss him but are grounded in the assurance that we carry his faith and determination in us. We will cherish forever his strength, courage, wisdom and boldness, as well as his unfailing love.

“We know that he will be deeply missed by many and our family appreciates your condolences and prayers. But don’t worry about him, because as he always liked to say, ‘Big Ace is cool.'”

Masked up, signing documents outside, Savage thanked his lawyer, John Simmons, his family, and his management team, saying “I hadda come up wit a plan for them bands now I’m putting in work I’m going over time with this one @300ent @jefe“.

First Of All I Wanna Say I Really Appreciate Best Lawyer In This Shit He Got My Best Interest & Big Love For My Big Cousin / Manager ❤️ We Gone To The Next Level Let’s Get It Baby That Time Finally Came I F*ckn Made It

Shy Glizzy forged a partnership with 300 in 2014, after his first charting single, Awesome, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 that same year. The independent label, distributed by Atlantic Records, was co-founded by executives Kevin Liles, Lyor Cohen and Todd Muscowitz. Cohen and Muscowitz both left 300 in recent years. Cohen took a job at YouTube, and Muscowitz went on to found competitor label Alamo Records.

Glizzy took a notice to No Savage, who is from Shy’s neighborhood of 37th Street, Southeast recently. In the past month, Savage  announced a signature cannabis strain, and dropped a new video on Worldstar with L.A.’s Dro Fe. Last year, No Savage, and Young Jose, who both were previously affiliated with Glizzy Gang, had a very public feud with Shy that went viral, and was detailed in the Fader. Thankfully, a neighborhood disagreement that got out of control was squashed, and Savage and Shy both have promised upcoming projects.

No Savage has been building his buzz since 2018, with millions of views on YouTube, and thousands of followers and monthly listeners on Instagram and Spotify. Big congrats to No Savage…definitely looking forward to what’s next for him in the future.

A 17-year-old and a 15-year-old defendant were also charged with murder and robbery in juvenile court, according to prosecutors. Their identities were withheld because of their age.
