Taking even his expected work ethic to the next level, Gucci Mane has announced that he will not only be dropping three mixtapes (each one to be produced by TM-88, Metro Boomin and Zaytoven), but his artist Pee Wee Longway will be dropping his own project as well. Finally, all projects are dropping on August 13th. It’s going to be a Gucci Summer before all is said and done.

Most Rappers Are Lying About Their Money (Businessweek)

I’m sitting over here laughing at the Nas part of this graph. From Businessweek (it’s better to check it out in full over there, as the graph gets interactive and in more detail).

Fresh off of Jay-Z’s new album is the track Versus, on which he chides fellow hip-hop artists and their dubious tales of extraordinary wealth: “The truth in my verses, versus, your metaphors about what your net worth is.” Like Jay-Z, we’ve long been skeptical of just how wealthy some hip-hop stars claim to be, so we created a way to separate the truly rich from the loud-mouth lyricists.

Scroll over each bar in the chart below to compare specific lyrics with data from Forbes’s “Cash Kings of Hip Hop” and “Forbes Five” reports from the same year the given artist’s wealth-related rap song was released. You’re welcome, Hova.

Gucci Mane Speaks On Fixing His Relationship With Waka Flocka

Judging from a recent update to this post, Waka Flocka still isn’t on very good terms with Gucci Mane. Recently, La Flare spoke to XXL about working things out with his still contractually obligated artist, and in a new interview with FADER (read it in its entirely here) he speaks more on the issue.

You’ve said you’d like to work things out with Waka, and that you’ll release a Brick Squad album this summer. Will Waka appear on that album?
He’ll definitely be on the album, just because we’ve recorded so much material to date that we were planning to put on the Brick Squad album anyway. So no matter if we work things out or not, whether he drops his next album on 1017 Brick Squad or Brick Squad Monopoly or however the situation works out, he definitely will be on the Brick Squad album. Those songs are already recorded. And we’re gonna push forward and try to let him drop the next three albums that he’s contracted to drop on my label. Cause at the end of the day it’s still business. I pride myself on being a great businessman and I think he’ll honor what he committed to and we’ll push forward.

Do you think you and Waka will be friends in the future?
I hope so. This isn’t the first time that me and Waka been at odds with each other. We always work it out. This is like the sixth or seventh time. I don’t see no difference between this and the last one.

UPDATE: Gucci Mane Announces Brick Squad Compilation Album

We don’t know exactly when it’s coming, but we now know the next big posse to be dropping a compilation project: Gucci’s Brick Squad. I’m still waiting for the official Guwop/Flocka reconciliation, too.

UPDATE:

Gucci Mane Announces Mr. Guwop Album

Gucci Mane sits down with Fader and he revealed that he and Marilyn Manson recently recorded a song together entitled “Fancy Bitch”:

“We made it whenever ‘Spring Breakers’ came out in Cali. He came to the sneak premiere, and after we did the red carpet and watched the movie, me and him went to the studio and made us a record.”

No word on where this track will end up, though Gucci Mane did take to his Twitter earlier today to announce a new album, Mr. Guwop, slated for release this Fall. Trap House 3 is currently available on iTunes.

Gucci Mane Clears Up Beef With Waka Flocka

We all know Gucci & Waka has been going back and forth lately. Gucci Mane recently sat down with XXL about the misunderstanding and where things currently stand between him and Flockaveli.

What are you working on now?
I’m just working on my Brick Squad group album which will drop this summer. It’ll be me, PeeWee Longway, Young Thug, Dolph and of course Chief Keef. I even got songs with Waka on there. I’m just gonna drop a collection of all the best songs we’ve been making. I dropped a mixtape for every artist on my label, so now I feel like it’s just time to put our album together and show everybody the chemistry we got together.

Speaking of Waka, what’s going on with you guys right now?
There was more of a miscommunication and things got misconstrued. But we got too much of a good thing. Whatever we got to work out, we always work it out.
